Here are a couple of challenges you might want to try for a fun family night during the next few weeks or indeed throughout the summer.
We have had a few good movie nights and have been involved in quite a few quiz nights which have been great fun and have given us a good laugh.
Naomi hosted a Star Wars night and laid out a lovely spread of munchies!
I hope you are all well and staying safe.
Virtual Sports Day Points have been finalised but I won’t be announcing the winning house until I have a highlights package ready, for which I need to liaise with Mrs Griffiths first ( she’s an expert at this stuff). Can I thank you all for your participation and for sending in your scores, videos and pictures – there are some crackers among them!
Did anyone manage to have a fun games night? We have had a few in the Smith household over the lockdown although I think my girls and wife are cheating as I haven’t won a single game yet ☹️. Feel free to send in any photos of your games and sporting activities.
For tomorrow I am posting a couple of throwing and catching activities. These are the Scarf Toss and Catch which is primarily aimed at he lower primary classes to improve hand to eye coordination ; and the Sevens Ball Game for middle and upper school although you should try the activities from either sheet if you are able.
If some of you find these too easy can you adapt them to suit your ability?
Have fun and remember to keep doing your workouts and any previous activities you have enjoyed.
Mr Smith
This challenge is just a guide for a fun night. You can change things and do whatever you like to ease stress and lift your spirits during this difficult time. Stay safe,
Today’s healthy recipe – Chicken Souvlaki (Greek kebabs) I made these last week when the weather was hot and the BBQ was out. If you fancy helping your parents to make these, maybe wait until the weather picks up or make them under the grill.
This recipe is based on Jamie Oliver’s pork souvlaki which you can get on the internet.
They are really tasty and quite healthy. It does take a wee while to prepare them but if your family work as a team, it won’t take you that long. They are really worth it.
I’ve split the videos into three parts, followed by a couple of photos of them plated up. Mind you, I’m not so good at plating up so have them any way you like. Remember to help your parents and not try all this on your own as it involves sharp knives and hot BBQs. Go on, give them a try!
So sorry for the late posting of the final day of our sports. I had a technical hitch last night – my finger forgot to hit publish.🤪
That should it be posted now. Sorry folks.
Please remember that the points deadline has been extended to Sunday. That should you more time to do the last challenge and/or catch up with any you have missed.
Thank you very much for your involvement,
Mr Smith.
How many socks can you throw into the basket in one minute?
And here are your warm ups from Harry, Evie and Isla C.
Remember to send your points and house colour in, either each night or a total score by Friday night. I will tally these up over the weekend to find the winning house which will be announced later next week.
Thanks for all the photos and videos you’ve been sending too. I hope to record a highlights video to be released with the scores next week.
If you have missed any activities you can catch up at your leisure between now and Friday.
I hope you are enjoying these wee challenges but if you haven’t had the chance have a go at some if possible to help out your house – every point counts!
Stay safe everyone,
Mr Smith
