Well done to the basketball team who came third in the local heats. They all performed well in what was a tough competition.
What a pity we shall not be in school tomorrow for World Book Day, however, any ECC, or Primary 1 to Primary 4 children who would like to still wear their costumes can do so on Monday instead.
What better way to spend a chilly World Book Day than curling up with a good book – happy reading everyone!
Everyone at the school would like to say a big thank you to the GFG for their kind donation of money to buy more handheld and headset microphones and accessories to complete our sounds system. We cannot thank you enough for your generosity to the school and to supporting and enhancing the children’s learning. Mrs. McLaughland, the staff and all the pupils.
Very well done to Laura Mitchell in Primary 7! The whole class entered a national photography competition called My Place Photography. After some photography tips from Grange Art & Design Department, Primary 7 took to Kilmarnock Town Trail to take their snaps. Laura went one further and went out to take some of her own too. She managed to come third from all the hundreds of entries from all across Scotland with her photograph Caprington In The Mist. I’m sure you’ll agree it is a stunning picture of a magnificent building we have right on our doorstep! Once again, congratulations, Laura!
Feel free to log on to the My Place Photography 2018 website to see all our entries.http://www.scottishcivictrust.org.uk/about/my-place-photography/competition/competition-galleries/primary-2018/
Inspired by recent Winter Olympic sports, Primary 7 studied Friction and made their own downhill slides.
This week Primary 7 enjoyed the Getting To Know You Day at Grange Academy.
This day is organised by all the P7 staff alongside their secondary colleagues to bring the children together in a series of tasks and challenges. They had the chance to meet Miss McBride PT of Transition as well as other teachers. Community policeman PC McKenna also spoke to the future S1. Approximately 210 children attended the day.
The next Transition event is the Science Fair which will take place on the morning of Friday March 9th.
Well done to all our Starwriters this week. They were Michelle McCann from P1, Laughlan Nicol and Finlay MacDonald from P2, Phoebe Dunlop from P3 Sophie Jackson and Katie Miller from P5 and Emma Simpson from P6. It was a family affair in the Lee family with both Pippa (P1) and Freya (P4) getting Starwriter certificates this week. Very well done to all!! Continue reading Starwriters 23/3/18
