Christmas Service
Dalbeattie Primary School attended Church today for their end of term Christmas Service. The theme of the service was crackers. Each cracker contained an item that symbolised an aspect of the Christmas Story. Throughout the service there were readings and poems shared by P7 pupils. All children were a credit to themselves and the school. The church was filled with their wonderful singing. Thank you to Dalbeattie and Kirgunzeon Parish Church following allowing us to hold our service in church today and thank you to parents, family and friends who were able to join us for the service.
Nursery Nativity
The children did a great job at entertaining their audiences at the nativity performances last week. They worked very hard to learn song words and looked great in their costumes.
P7 Christmas Party
Last night Primary 7 had a blast at their last ever primary school Christmas party. We showed off our Scottish dancing skills and really wowed Mrs Duncan with how good we were. We played some party games then strutted our stuff in the dancing competition. We even had a short break and ate some delicious party food. Mrs Burn and Miss Clendinning were thrilled with how well behaved and well mannered everyone was.
A big thank you to Mrs Duncan and Mrs Stitt for buying and preparing all of the yummy food.
We had a great evening!!

P1 Christmas Craft Sale
On Monday afternoon P1 invited family and friends to come along to their Christmas Craft Sale. The previous week they had been very busy making various items using lots of glitter, tissue, snowflakes and pompoms! It was very busy and everything was sold out! We would like to thank all the parents, relatives and friends for coming along and supporting us! We are pleased to announce we have raised £174.12 which will be going towards a class trip.
A Timeless Nativity
Our Nativity this year, for 2016, was ‘A Timeless Nativity’ and was written specially for our last Christmas in this school before we move to our new school in 2017. The story starts with a present day child ‘Johnny’ who is bored with all the singing practice because he just wants it to be Christmas and get all his presents. The teacher has words with him and says he needs to see the Doctor as he is not in the true spirit of Christmas. Cue the Doctor who arrives in his Tardis. He then takes Johnny back to 1876, the year Dalbeattie Primary School first opened so that he can learn something from the boys and girls back then. He then takes Johnny even further back in time to Bethlehem, over 2000 years ago. By the time the play ends, Johnny now appreciates the true meaning of Christmas and he apologises to his classmates for his lack of enthusiasm earlier on!
More photos will follow soon….
Christmas Lights Switch On
Some pupils from Primary 6 attended the switching on of the Christmas Light is Dalbeattie on Friday 2nd of December. The children performed a selection of Christmas songs they had be learning in school. It is always a pleasure to support local events within the community.
P6 will be going along to the Day Centre later this term to perform their selection of songs again and P3 will be visiting Alma House to share some songs from the Christmas Nativity.

SSFA Primary 7 Soccer Sevens
Today it was the turn of our P7 football team to take part in the SSFA Soccer Sevens regional qualifier. The team played against 5 other schools during the tournament and represented the school extremely well. The team showed determination throughout each game and displayed very sporting behaviour at the end of each match. Mr Cathro and myself were both very proud of the team performance. The team finished fourth overall in their league. Well done boys.
