We are delighted to receive a donation of £250 from Dalbeattie Museum on the occasion of Tommy Henderson’s 80th Birthday which also marked the end of this year’s  season as the Museum closed its doors for the winter.  Dalbeattie Museum has gifted the Primary School with this money as many of the Museum’s members worked on the ‘History of Dalbeattie Primary School’ book which was published earlier this year and they wanted to thank the school for the opportunity for school and Museum to work together on this successful project. Thank you!

Halloween Fun

We had a fun start to the new term today in nursery.  Lots of us dressed up and we enjoyed some traditional Halloween activities like dookin’ for apples.  Some of us were brave enough to perform our ‘party pieces’ so we had some lovely songs, some jokes (that the adults didn’t get at all but we found hilarious!) and some interesting dance moves!  We made pumpkin lanterns and had a spooky snack.

P7 Blogging!

Primary 7C have been learning how to blog this term and have made an excellent start to their own personal blogs. Miss Clendinning is very proud of the effort and standard of the blogging entries so far this year and is sure the High School will love reading them as part of the P7 transition process. Well done P7!!

Here we are, hard at work!!

Thank you!! Happy Holidays!

P7 – Getting ready for Operation Safety!

In preparation for our visit to Operation Safety on Friday 14th October Primary 7 have been learning all about how keep ourselves and others  safe and how to react in an emergency situation.

We have discussed and used role play to learn about a variety of different emergency situations such as road safety, electrical safety and making emergency calls. However one of our favourite tasks was revising how to put someone into the recovery position. We learned about the importance of remembering our ABC (Airways, Breathing and Circulation) before practicing the recovery position with our friends. It was great fun!!

P7 Olympic Topic

This term Primary 7 have been learning about the Ancient and Modern Olympic Games. We have investigated the history of the games, where it originated and how it came to be, and have found out how it developed into the Olympic Games we have today.

Our rich task this term was to create a board game which demonstrated team work, creativity and good knowledge and understanding of our topic.

We worked really well together to come up with ideas, to compromise and to delegate jobs.

When we were finished we presented the games to the class then shared them with P6G and P6/7B. They gave us some super feedback and all seemed to thoroughly enjoy the games.

Here are some of the finished products.
