On Thursday 10th May Primary 6 and 7 were visited by Jude from Scottish Opera to teach them a little more about the background of their upcoming Scottish Opera performance.
Jude taught the classes some Mandarin words and the children explored the history of Emperor Zhu Di.

Group 2 have just completed their block of PE transition lessons with Mr Drennan. They have taken part in sessions of running track, hockey, boxercise and softball over the past 4 weeks and have thoroughly enjoyed their experiences.
As part of our Extreme Earth topic we have been learning about chemical reactions.
Today we carried out several science experiments using vinegar and baking soda to create volcanic eruptions. We made predictions and tried lots of different combinations and methods to discover which one created the best and biggest reaction.
We had great fun but it sure did stink!!!!
Primary 7 have been thoroughly enjoying their PE transition with Mr Drennan over the past few weeks. They have demonstrated excellent skill and stamina in their weekly challenges, despite being worked very hard, and have returned to class with very rosy cheeks!
Primary 7C have been busy this term recreating some traditional children’s stories into Scots language. Today P7 developed their presentation skills by sharing their books with the P3s, who were a fantastic audience. Thank you P3 and well done P7C!

Primary 7C have been working hard on their coding skills recently. They have been using Tynker – an online coding website – to tackle some very challenging tasks, creating their own games and characters.

Katie from iBike joined us today to teach us how to fix a pucture on our bikes. We all were given the opportunity to have a go at patching up a puncture. Hopefully this will be a useful skill for the future.
P6-S1 pupils were given a super presentation today from the South West of Scotland Piping and Drumming Academy. They were informed about the opportunities available to them should they wish to take up piping or drumming in the near future.
