Hello from Mrs Duncan and Mrs Howie

Just posting to touch base with you all. Hope you are all safe and well at home with your families.  Well done to all of you who are getting to grips with your first home learning grid. For those of you that have had some issues with technology don’t worry this is a busy time for technology and it will all work out.

We know that some of you have been in touch with your class teacher and have been emailing back and forwards. Teachers would like to hear how you are all getting on. Drop them an email to say hi. Please encourage your son/daughter to check into their emails regularly as teachers may be emailing their classes directly.

We realise that information from the authority around child care for key workers has been varied and ever changing. Please keep a check on D and G Council Facebook page for this. Thank you to all staff and volunteers who have been part of our Community hub so far.

Please remember that we are both here should you need to contact the school for anything regarding learning, well being or just to say hi in  these difficult time.

Thank you to  all staff, pupils, parents and carers for your continued support in all matters at this time.

Home Learning, Logins and Medication Information

We are conscious that some parents are concerned they do not have their children’s glow logins. Please be assured that we will get these to you. We have had a number of children who were not in school, yesterday or today, to receive letters and homework/ information packs being sent home. The logins or packs for children who have not been in school will be distributed next week, most likely by hand delivery through your home letter box or, in some cases, they will be posted out. We have tried to make sure that all medication (such as inhalers which are usually kept in school) was sent home with pupils today. However, we have some belonging to children who were absent from school. If you would like your child’s medication, which has not yet come home, please contact the school on Monday to arrange for its collection.

Message from Director of Skills, Education and Learning

MESSAGE TO PARENTS FROM DIRECTOR SKILLS, EDUCATION AND LEARNING

Dear Parents/Carers

Covid19 Pandemic

I wanted to write to all families to confirm the message from the First Minister earlier this afternoon that schools and nurseries across Scotland will close from the end of the school day on Friday.  I will provide more detail on how we plan to support you and your family during this very difficult time as soon as this information becomes available.

We will send all information directly to Headteachers and will ensure that all Council communication channels (Website, Facebook and Twitter) are updated with the latest information for you.

If you are a worker within Health and Social Care or the Emergency Services, or if you have a senior phase pupil preparing for exams, targeted information will follow.

We ask that you continue to remain in contact with your school and your Headteacher if you have any concerns at all.  Thank you for your support as we work through this difficult time.

Yours sincerely

Dr Gillian Brydson
