Mrs Graham’s P6/7 maths group ventured outside in the sunshine today to learn all about angles. We created acute, obtuse, right, reflex and straight line angles from shadows our bodies made. We also drew pictures and made group models , finding the angles throughout . Using the cameras , we photographed as many different and unusual angles as we could . Photos to follow!
P1, P2 and P3 recently enjoyed developing their cricket skills with Rosy Ryan, cricket development coach. Information can be found on the leaflets sent home with the children about joining a club.
On Thursday 10th May Primary 6 and 7 were visited by Jude from Scottish Opera to teach them a little more about the background of their upcoming Scottish Opera performance.
Jude taught the classes some Mandarin words and the children explored the history of Emperor Zhu Di.

Group 2 have just completed their block of PE transition lessons with Mr Drennan. They have taken part in sessions of running track, hockey, boxercise and softball over the past 4 weeks and have thoroughly enjoyed their experiences.
On Friday afternoon last week a group of P7’s came down to P1 to help us plant various seeds as part of our ‘In the Garden’ topic work. We worked in groups and when we were finished we also had fun making plasticene flowers together. Last but by no means least the P7’s volunteered to read us some stories. Last week P1 had a visit from Carol Moyes from the STEM team. She taught us what an algorithm was and used the game ‘Rock, Paper, Scissors’ as an example. We then learned a new game, ‘Bear, Cowboy, Ninja’! We enjoyed playing the game and then drew out our own algorithm to represent it.
Primary 4 had a fantastic trip to Threave Castle and Gardens last week.Thank you to the Rangers for guiding the children round all areas.
Primary 3 had a great trip to Boreland Farm Colvend on Wednesday 9th of May. Thank you to Stephen and Tracy Roan for allowing the class to visit and sharing their farming knowledge and experiences with the class. Thank you also to Fiona Jamieson from RHET for co-ordinating the trip along with Mrs Dunlop. The children were so excited to share their learning with others on their return to school. Well done P3. 
Primary 3 had great fun preparing soup and pizza yesterday but they enjoyed tasting it even more!! Well done P3!!
Last week P1 enjoyed a great day out at Dino Park to complete their topic work on dinosaurs. Lucky for us the sun was shining all day and the children had great fun taking part in many different activities. Thank you to Thomas and Miss Yousaf for accompanying us!
