P2’s week

P2 have been busy drawing pictures of our mums for Mother’s Day. We also wrote ‘This is my mum’ stories and ‘I love my mum because…’ which were on the wall at the assembly.

At the assembly we had great fun singing lovely songs about Mummies and Grannies.

Tiegan, Ryan and Ayla liked singing ‘You cannae shuv yer Grannie aff the bus’.

Nicole loved singing ‘The Funny Face’ song.

Matthew enjoyed reading out lovely things about his mum.

Well done to all of the children from P2 who spoke at the assembly: Leo, Sachin, Kieran, Sarah, Ryan, Daniel T, Matthew, Ayla and Jack.

Watch out for a little surprise on Sunday, P2 Mummies!

Leo’s favourite part of the week was drawing Supertato for World Book Day. The children all did a super job!

We had great fun outside drawing dinosaur footprints and we used rulers to measure how many cm they were. The children worked extremely hard and were super learning partners to each other. P2 are also learning how to multiply by grouping objects together.

I was very impressed with the Jungle Book reading group this week as they managed to read some tricky words. Well done!

Well done to the dojo champion Maya Thomson.

P 4/5 this week

This week was a very exciting week with our World Book Day assembly at the Lanthorn.  We really enjoyed our singing and some of us presented a small play about the book of God’s Law.  We chose to sing the song Bear Necessities and did very well even with the tricky part about the PawPaw.

For World Book Day we enjoyed dressing up as book characters.  We had Sandy Dee, Firestar, Bluestar, Dork Diaries and many more.

Most of us have really enjoyed gymnastics this week, but some of us found it a bit challenging.  In our health we found out how much sugar was in the drinks we enjoy.  7Up really surprised us, and not in a good way.

Today we met Pablo the SuperBanana who was teaching us all about Fairtrade.  We have some exciting homework searching for Fairtrade labels and researching where our food comes from.

Dojo winner this week was…. Emma M.   A special congratulations to Chloe Bell and Emma Russell who proudly represented us at the Burn’s poetry competition!

World Book Day

P1b were looking good yesterday when lots of the children dressed up for world book day.  We have celebrated by reading some good stories in the library this week including ‘The Wizard of Oz’ and we have been writing wanted posters for Golidlocks and making pictures of her for our ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears Wall’ which we are very proud of.

Mrs Lloyd’s writing group have also been writing letters to the Three Bears from Golidlocks.  The quality of work produced was very high and the detail included was outstanding.  Well done boys and girls!
