P3: What’s going on in our classroom!

In Maths, Emma M has enjoyed learning the times tables and the whole class have enjoyed learning the 2x & 3x tables song except for Mrs Sinclair who kept singing the 3x table song in her sleep.

In P.E. Josh enjoyed climbing really high on the wall bars.  A big well done to Rhys who successfully climbed the box by himself after struggling for a little while.

A huge congratulations to Samantha & Amy for their recital of ‘Mince and Tatties’ and Carla for her Ally Bally Song.  We will see you all on X Factor in the future.

Our Roman topic is now up and running and the children are desperate to find out about the Roman helmet which sits  in our classroom.   We are also looking forward to looking at Matthew’s pictures on Monday.   Further updates and pictures to follow in the coming weeks.

As always we practised handwriting and a special mention goes to Ryan who enjoyed joining up his letters.

Primary 2/3’s first month of the new year.

Sorry its taken so long, but we have had technical issues accessing the blog to post about what we have been up to – so now it’s all fixed we’ll make up for it.

For our first feww weeks we have looked at winter and Scots Language.  We designed Winter Woolies, we evaluated some Winter Art then produced our own art using pastels.  We’ve learned and performed Scots poerty, including The Wee Rid Motor and Mince and Tatties.  We’ve listened to some modern classics in Scots, The Gruffalo and Room on the Broom.

P1/2 had a very busy week!

This week we have been filling in more of our vowel house sounds when we were learning about the sounds ‘oi’ and ‘igh’ and have been sounding out lots of words with these sounds in them.

We have been using our take away skills to answer questions that were written in words instead of just numbers.

Niamh enjoyed doing some Scottish activities with Mrs Ferguson.  James enjoyed his language work this week.  Ryan had great fun at our first tennis taster session.

Next week we look forward to learning some new sounds and we are going to learn more about castles after getting a letter from Sir Helpalot last week.
