Scots Language Celebrations in Bankton

Congratulations to all of our confident individuals who performed their Scots language and Burns poems at our whole school assembly to celebrate the work of Robert Burns. We were especially proud of our Nursery children who all sang Wee Willie Winkie with actions and P.1 – P.3 who entertained us with ‘Mince and tatties’, ‘Roguey Poguey’ and Ma wee rid motor.

P.4 – P.7 performed a number of Burns poems including: ‘Lament on Mary, Queen of Scots’, ‘A Parcel of Rogues among Nations’, ‘A man’s a man for aw that’ and ‘The Joyful Widower’

Photographs and prizewinners to follow.

P.2 and P.2/3  have been celebrating Scots culture with favourite stories in Scots – The Gruffalow and Room on the Broom. P.2 have had a special tartan challenge and displayed their work for all to see.

We look forward to hearing Louis Hartl-Hazette playing his Scots song on the trumpet at the area finals in March. keep practising Louis, we are very proud of you.

Andy Murray Watch Out!

Primary one had a fabulous opportunity today when they were given a taste of the skills needed for playing tennis.  Coach Ian complimented the children on how hard they had worked and on how well they were controlling the tennis balls.  Josh showed off his knowledge when he confidently named some tennis players and Jason was really impressed by coach Ian’s skills saying that he was awesome!  The children are very much looking forward to session two next week.     100_3719100_3727100_3722100_3726100_3720
