Badger The Mystical Mutt @ Bankton

You may already be aware of the Magical Badger Buzz at Bankton!!  We are delighted to be teaming up with Badger the Mystical Mutt and Authors McNicol and Jackson for an inspiring fun-filled year as our very own reading patrons!

This project has been set up to inspire the pupils and further develop a love for reading and writing in our school!

Badger visited the school last month and was recorded for a very special radio broadcast which will be aired on BBC Radio Scotland on Boxing Day at 12.30 (see the link below for details).

Tune in and you may just hear some voices that you recognise!

Watch out for more magical Badger events in the New Year!

Emotion Works @ Bankton

The children loved Showing off the work they have been doing on emotions with Claire Murray from Emotion Works today.  The whole school has been working on the Emotion Works cog system to help the children to understand their emotions.  They have been developing their vocabulary of emotion words, looking at how different emotions feel in their bodies, how they behave when they feel these emotions emotions and what triggers them to feel different things.  Next week we will be looking at how we can regulate our responses to our emotions!  Look our for our showcase in November where parents will get a chance to come in and find out more about what we have been doing!
