35 Primary 7 pupils set sail last night for Aberdeen. After a very calm crossing they have arrived safely in Aberdeen and are now enroute to Blair Drummond Safari Park.

Baldy Bane Theatre Company Performance
Primary six and seven enjoyed a performance called ‘The Journey’ by the Baldy Bane Theatre company this morning. The performance was ‘forum theatre’ which meant that the pupils were able to particiapte throughout the play and were invited to make certain decisions to determine the outcome of the scenes. The key messages of the play were all about road safety. The pupils shared a lot of great knowledge to ensure a safe outcome for all of the characters in the play.
Sign of the week is ‘dinner.’
Holocaust Memorial Day
P6N and P6S were invited to the Holocaust memorial service at the Town Hall on Friday. They read poems that they had written in class with the theme of ‘Torn from Home’ and participated in some singing. Finally, a pupil from each class was asked to lay a wreath on the cenotaph. They did extremely well and we are very proud of them all!
Tuck Shop Takeover
Both Primary One classes took over the tuck shop today selling iced biscuits. The Primary 7 pupils kindly helped us to ice the biscuits and sell these around the classes. We wanted to raise some money for our friend, Etta, who is in hospital at the moment. We hope to use this money to buy her something nice.
Goodbye P7
It is always sad to say goodbye to pupils and this year has been very hard. We have thoroughly enjoyed having such a fantastic bunch of young people in the school and wish them the very best for the future.

Tree Planting
Our Eco-committee have ben busy this morning working alongside staff from Lerwick Port Authority and the Amenity Trust to plant trees in our garden.
As part of Lerwick Port Authority’s commitment to the environment they have an initiative where each year they plan approximately 20 trees to offset their paper usage. This year they kindly asked Bell’s Brae to be part of this important initiative. Our Eco-committee were thrilled to receive this offer and spend this morning learning about the different trees.

Edinburgh trip -Day 3
Our first stop today was at the Ratho Climbing Centre where we got to abseil and climb. It was lots of fun and so good seeing everyone challenge themselves.
We are so proud of all the young people who are behaving so well and are great company.
We had our lunch in glorious sunshine at Bannockburn before heading in doors to hear all about the Battle of Bannockburn. In groups the children then held their own battle. Once again the Scottish were victorious in “The Battle of the Bowling Club”.
We had our tea in Pizza Hut and then all enjoyed Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.
P7 Edinburgh-Day 2
The sun is shining today in Edinburgh. After a super night’s sleep we all headed to Edinburgh Castle first thing.
We then went to Camera Obscura and loved all the illusions.
After lunch outside we went to Butterfly and Insect World and got to hold millipedes, snakes and tarantulas.
P7 Edinburgh Trip – Day 1
A super first day for our trip. We have spent the day at Blair Drummond Safari Park. There was so much to see and do. There were many favourites – boat rides, Zip lines and dodgems to name a few.
We arrived in Edinburgh at teatime and had a quick turn around at the hostel before heading to Cosmos for tea.
It has been a really enjoyable and busy day.
