GOODBYE AND GOOD LUCK MRS WADLEY
Friday 4th September was an emotional rollercoaster as we said goodbye to Mrs Wadley, Head Teacher of Bell’s Brae for 15 years. As a surprise the whole school took part in a special song/dance for her amongst other surprises in Friday’s farewell assembly.
Mrs Wadley’s commitment, dedication and support to pupils and staff will be a huge miss but we will cherish many memories of her time at Bell’s Brae. We wish her well in her new post of HM Inspector with the Scottish Government.
Coronation Celebrations
Our pupils had a super afternoon celebrating the King’s Coronation. Canteen staff made a fantastic royal picnic that they all enjoyed around the school grounds.
Later in the afternoon our P7 pupils showed great leadership and ran a very successful activities afternoon for all children from nursery-P7. The planned engaging activities such as:
- Pin the crown on the King (or Mrs Wadley)
- A royal scavenger hunt
- Design and make crowns
- Obstacle course
- Guess the number of sweets in the jar
- Beat the King (Goalie)
It was lots of fun and a great way to spend an afternoon.
Hansel and Gretal
Pupils in P7 recently got the opportunity to attend an After School Drama Club run by Izzy Swanson. There were due to perform at the Drama Festival but due to snow closures this was cancelled.
They got the opportunity to perform to an audience last night in the Garrison Theatre. They were absolute stars and received wonderful feedback from John Haswell, who said they were born for the stage!
Our School Values in Action
Nominations for those people have put our values into action have been very popular.
Look at our full noticeboard:
Two pupils selected by their peers enjoyed a ‘cuppa and a chat’ with members of the management team.
This is a great way to encourage our learners to think about our school values and how they are put into practice on a daily basis.
