Two netball teams and two football teams from Bell’s Brae took part in tournaments with pupils from different schools throughout Shetland today.
The pupils had a great day out! They all played really well with great sportsmanship!
The netball teams both performed superbly. The Primary 6 team played fantastically and made it through to the semi – final where they met the Bell’s Brae Primary 7 team. It was a closely fought match and everybody played well but the Primary 7 pupils were victorious.
This led to the Bell’s Brae P7 team reaching the final which they went on to win!
In the football the Bell’s Brae 1 team had several closely contested games in their group. They drew and won games and were able to progress to the games for the cup in the afternoon.
The Bell’s Brae 2 team worked tirelessly as a team and secured a win and a draw in the morning . This led to them playing for the Plate in the afternoon.
Both teams had draws with teams and exciting penalty shoot outs! However, they both performed well and made it to the final for the Plate (Bell’s Brae 2) and the Cup (Bell’s Brae 1).
Hamnavoe were victorious against Bell’s Brae 2. The pupils all played really well together as a team.
Bell’s Brae 1 were the winners in the Cup final.
All pupils involved played really well and it was super to see them all encouraging each other and mixing with pupils from other schools.
The pupils have been working together after school on their netball and football skills. Thanks go to Miss Birnie, Mrs Wood, Miss Henry and Mr Sandison for all their time and dedication running these clubs.
