This morning we came in and we were learning to write a formal letter as an email. we did by writing a complaint to somebody in the class. We were writing a complaint about a hotel that was not up to standers.

After break time we did an informal letter back to Santa’s wife because Santa’s wife was being cheeky. we were learning to write an informal letter using vcop.
After lunch we were listening to Mr Mcmullan read the end of “Alex Rider Storm breaker.Here is a metaphor “The wind was tearing his eyes.” Mr Mcmullan left it on a cliff hanger.
Next we did maths: First we did a maths test and you had to answer as many questions as you can in one minute. Mckenzi scored a amazing score of “16”. well done Mckenzi ! Charlie Anne also scored 37!

As part of our Global warming topic, each child is researching and presenting to the class about one energy source eg coal, oil, wind. We are also going to be making models of these things in class. You will have a budget of £1 to spend per person on your model.
Research and plan how you want to spend you £1 on materials.
Anything you can get for free or lying around the house is allowed as well!
This morning when we came into the classroom we got some new spelling words .
Our new words are linked to our new topic of global warming ,here is the words in case you want to practise them at home.

After we practised our spelling words we made a flow chart for our books. A flow chart is like a v.i.p. carpet but you can go in all different directions , all you have to do is write down the main parts of the story we made an example of one based on the class novel “stormbreaker”

After playtime we played a game of times table elimanation. We looked at the links between the 3, 6 and 9 times tables.Kiera and Calum ended up head to head
After that Mrs Rutherford and the rest of the choir came in, we have a new choir song and we spent our time practicing.

When we came in from our lunch break we had a 12 question true or false quiz about global warming here are some of the questions

This morning we were learning more about climate change which is our topic right now.
Then we read our books so that we can understand the text more. Some groups had to create their own questions about the text to show that they understood it.
In maths we are learning repeated adding (multiplying) one group played elimination, what you do is you need to say numbers in the 4 times table and you can say up to 2 numbers, whoever says 40 is out!
Then we did our posters for the 8 times table and used Kieras 4 times table poster to show us what it should look like.

Today we had Mrs Rutherford . We were playing the keyboard.
We were also singing our school show song. Follow the star.
Then before break time we were learning about how to call a complaint because we orderd a five piece garding set and we ordered three and only two came. Mr Mcmullan called Argos and told them.
Just before break we played elimanation with our spelling words. We where learning to spell our words. We worked in two’s.The game is easy all you have to do is take a word or number then you are not alowed to say the last letter.S o say the word was nontoxic you are not allowed to say the c.
After lunch we were learning to understand the meaning of text. We used a new learning ladder. This shows you how to understand the meaning of text. Here is a picture of the ladder.
We then used this skill in comprehension. Come people were reading about “El Nino”. Here is some pictures of people working.
