Weirdo Wednesday

When we came in today we started off by doing just a little bit of maths. We had to do a time tables square and other times tables. Then when we finished we went to assembly. It was a house assembly. In assembly we did a quiz, songs, challenges, and news round. For the first bit we did a couple of songs, then we moved onto a quiz. You had to show your’e house captain either 1, 2, 3, or 4. It was really easy. It was miss cannon and miss livingstone against all the kids. In the quiz there was a couple of challenges, and some song challenges. The challenges were like drawing miss Ferguson, miss Thompson, and mr green, the triangle dance, and throwing bean bags in a bucket. The drawing challenge was for p4s, p5s and p6s singing challenges was for everybody in their houses, the bean bag challenge was for p1s and p2, and the triangle dance was for p6s and p7s. We all got a different challenge for all our classes. We had to work together as a team. 

When we came back in it was play time. It rang three bells so that means it is an indoor, but then we got told it was an outside play time. It was extra playtime as well but when it was extra playtime, we got sent back in because it started to rain again. 

When the teachers came back in we did some more maths. We did our proper maths this time because when we came in we did times tables to get our brain on. In maths we are learning to make it easier. We are working on graphs. We were trying to learn from our mistakes that we made yesterday to correct them for our graphs today. The teacher gives us a little bit of paper with numbers about how much people went to school. They were set up as a column of boys and a column of girls. We had to draw out the graph and then draw on the girls and boys. It sounded confusing for some people but then they realised that it is really easy. We had to use a ruler and put the numbers and letter ON THE LINE. When we finished we had to go and show the teacher and he will not let us go for lunch unless it is perfect, and he means perfect.

When we finished it was lunch time. It was an outdoor cause it was raining and there was puddles. They didn’t want any of the kids getting wet and sitting in it for the rest of the day. The buddies went down for their lunch and the other kids played on the computers. 

When the bell rang we came in and we started off by doing some reading. We read a couple of chapters of holes then we moved onto a debate. The teacher said if u want to do a debate you have to either do it about everything should be fair trade.

After that we moved onto health and well being (HAWB). We moved into drugs. The teacher wants us to know what can really hurt you, or what can make you sick. We had to write in our joggers what is legal and what is illegal. The teacher went through the full class and we had to add ideas. This is what we thought of,

That is what we thought was legal, and now this is what we thought was illegal:

That is what we thought was illegal. Then we moved onto True and False about drugs. We are learning about this because the teacher wants us to know About how to make sensible choices as we get older.

We then had to do our assessment. Our assessment was:

Then we went to p7s for song practise.

Monday 28.5.19

When we came in today, we started off by doing some hand writing. We are doing hand writhing because we are trying to improve on joining letters. We had to use pen and we had to do it twice. It was about our art show and it had some over the top sentences in it. While we were doing hand writing the teacher asked some people to read. The first person to read was Logan, he had to read a chapter then the next person was josh, and he had to read a chapter, then coral had to read a chapter. We read three chapters altogether. Then we moved onto something called hyperbole. Hyperbole is when you put some fake sentences in it like 

E.g “this situation is 1 billion times worse than I thought!!!”

SPORTS DAY 2019!!!!!

Today was sports day. We went to many many different activities. It was a different day because we got to day activities for the full day instead of doing work all day. It was really fun.

The first thing we went to was basket ball. We had to go into 2 groups. It was boys v girls. It was a draw.

The next thing we went to was I.c.t sweet. We had an ice lolly break. It was only 9:30. We got a choice between 3 different kinds. There was a rainbow 🌈 rocket 🚀 , Rainbow stick, and just a plain yellow ice lolly.

Pit stop

After a wee break we went to space hoppers. Mrs McMillan was taking it. She spit us into 4 groups. We all had a race. We had to go around Mrs McMillan and then back to the next person. When we finished doing races we could just play. We had to share but. The teacher made up tokens. There were for why don’t u go first. If the teacher seen us saying it he will give us one. They are worth 10 house points.

Monday

This morning we were practicing our thinking by using two different thinking routines.

 

+1 and “micro lab protocol”

 

these help us to develop our listening skills.

After playtime we were learning about equivalent fractions and how to simplify fractions.

 

Our UNCRC article this week is article 4

Governments must ensure that every child can enjoy their rights

 

we learned he government there is a children’s minister, whose job is to make sure that children are safe and healthy and that children have their rights.

 

Remember that tomorrow the p7s are going to the high school all day and need to bring packed lunch and a snack as well as their water bottle. Bring a warm jumper and coat as well as you will be outside a lot of the day.

Finally Friday

When we came in today we got our cafè’s ready. If we had to make any more signs then we had to make them. Them we went down to the kitchen and did our cooking. Firstly if we had to make a salad or a fruit salad then we had to make that first.

Then it was play time. It was an in door cause people are digging up the play ground and making Sure that there are no holes in the ground. It wasn’t safe for us going out so the wet weather monitors went down to their classes.

Then we moved onto our hot stuff. When we have finished we went back to the class and started went over to other people’s cafès. It was really fun. Then the p7s  and p5/6s came in and went to peoples cafès. We even tried,  a very hot crisp and for some people there mouth was on fire.

While we were doing that it was lunch time. It was another in door cause it still wasn’t safe for us going out cause they were still digging so during lunch time the wet weather monitors when back down to their classes. People who don’t buddy stayed in the kitchen and helped tidyup.

Them we went to ict. We went with mr green and did  another cem test. It was only maths we had to do. While we were doing that Mr McMullan toke out some p7s and went to see the bee hive. He marked the queen be with paint all over her so the next time it will be easy to see her. We then looked at the video he took, if you want to see it, it will be on buzzing about bees.

Shiny Wednesday

When we came in today we started off by doing some spelling. If we haven’t finished our swarm of bees, that we started yesterday we had to finish of that first. When you are doing the spelling, you had to try and add eight of our spelling words. You had to do a Pararagh, but u couldn’t have, I, so or because at a start of a sentence.

Then we moved onto French. We had to wright out exactly what you are going to do from start to finish on our French cafè. The teacher wanted to know in detail:

What you are cooking,

How you are cooking it,

What you need to cook/prepare it,

And picture of how you are going to set out the food.

If u had any questions you have about how to cook something u could write it down and the teacher will answer it.

The teacher wants to know in detail because when we go tommorow and he says ok everybody go in case nobody knows, what they are going to do. Tommorow is when we are doing the French cafè, so if people need to bring in anything tomorrow, that is when we are doing it.( Be prepared ).

Then it was playtime when we finished. It was out door cause it was a shiny day again.

When we came back in we started off by doing a road saftey, completion . Well what we had to do is do a landscape picture about Sartre driving. Some examples what we thought people could do where:

That was some ideas what we could do our Saftey posters about. You had to add a slogan, information about the thing you are doing, and maybe some top tips. It was really fun doing it.

E.g ( Slogan ) Slow down when you get down to town.

We did the saftey completion form break to lunch.

Then it was lunch time. It was another out door.

When we came in we started off by doing a song practise in p7s. So only stayed in there for 10 minutes.

Then we came back in the class, and the lady from the high school came in and she was talking about how we are getting there, and who we are walking with. Some people are in big groups, small groups, and some people ar going by their selfs. The lady went away at 2:15.

When the lady went away, we went outside.

Hot Wednesday 🥵

When we came in today we started off by doing some spelling. We are learning to, practise new words, and to re practise old words that we already know. The teacher did some spelling shapes and that is when he doesn’t do the word he just does the outline of the word and we have try and work out what one it would be. It was really fun.

When we finished that we moved onto writing. In writing we are learning to use VCOP and to use WOW words. We had to either do a story, or an how to, about a swarm of bees. We had to use VCOP and not use boring words. We also had to try and make the peice of writing fun and exciting, not boring that they will fall asleep.

It  was one day and me and my mum went to the zoo. We seen a elephant. It was big. Then we went to go and get lunch. We had salad 🥗. Then we went home and went to bed.

Once upon a time we wen to the zoo. Firstly we went to go and see a tiger. When we got there the tigers were chasing a little kid. The little kid was shouting for help. Then her mum helped her and they went home. When finished seeing the tiger chasing the little kid, We went to go and get some ice cream. We went in the cafè and a kangaroo was eating all the ice cream. I was getting scared so we went home and went to bed.

Yesterday at break our bees did a cast swarm, (A cast swarm is when the don’t go far away the just move out near there hive), And then during lunch time, the bees did a real swarm. A real swarm is when the queens are hatching, and then the bees move out and the go on a tree or a bush “up high or low”  and they have a big cuddle. They fly about first then they get calm.

It was an outdoor, cause it is such a nice, shiny, hot day. We got 10 minutes extra.

We came back in and got ready for P.E, we went outside and did different activities. There was:

No show football,

Walking rugby,

Leah teaching a dance,

Horse,

Trim trail,

and whatever else they wanted to do.

Then it was lunch time. It was another outdoor.

When we came in the teacher was talking us about water cause people in our class is going into the little ones water fountain and filling it up and having a water fight. Miss Watson, had to clean up the people who had a

Then we came back in and started off by doing some maths.

In maths we are leaning about fractions. There was three groups. Doing the groups, I think, it is a good idea cause then the teacher can see where we are in maths and in our learning. We all had different learning success criteria. It depends what group you were in. In maths this term I think we have did quite a lot of different, fun stuff.

After maths we went to p7s and did a quick some practise. We went over the words again, and we sang it over and over a couple of times. We stayed in the class for 30 minutes. It got really hot.

Then we went outside again with p7s.

In the morning we did handwriting.

At 9:20 we started comprehension.Some of us were doing it on planes ,other people were doing it on how to find information in a book.

                              

Then this was out final day to finish our bee keeping book.

Finally Friday 🥺

When we came in today we started off by doing French. We had to finish of our cafè, we started yesterday. When we finished we had to get a partner and play French hang man. Some people are working in partners, trio’s and people are doing it by them selves. When we finished that we moved onto literacy. We finished off our bee booklets. We are almost finished. When have to go throw what we have done and make sure we are still using the features. The features are:

We have to try and add in all of them. While we were doing the bee booklet the teacher put on a bee video . He showed us a video of a man looking for the queen bee and trapping it, but trying not to kill it. You have to be very careful, when u do it.

Then it was break time. It was an outdoor.

When we came back in we tidied up then went out for the daily mile.

We came back in and did some maths. For the rest of the team we are working on fractions. Today we are learning about fraction number lines.

We came back in and went to I.C.T. Firstly we had to do 15 minutes of typing, then we moved onto making our French cafè poster. We had to add our food, nice border, nice font, prices and allergy warnings. Then we went to p7 and did some singing practise. We watched the videos of it then sang it. We had to stay in there for 40 minutes.

Then we went back in our class and did more French for the second TIME.
