Today we were learning about relationships 😀. We were in groups discussing how you should treat each other in a relationship.Then the whole class were discussing the main points and then we wrote them on the board. We all agreed that one of the main points was that they cared for each other. Today in class we made flap jacks and we have to make up a name for the bar and the price and hear are the ingredents ; syrup ,butter,oats,brown sugar and mix it all it was so fun. Then we put them in a tray and put them in the oven.And when they are warm we cut then up in half. Made by Leah and Alanah

Today P7 went on an Easter egg hunt round the school looking for Easter eggs.  We hid eggs and we put random clues with them. Then  when every group had hid one, the teacher read out a clue and then we all went hunting. Every one didn’t get one at the first clue but got one at the second and every one was given an equal amount.  No one got extra. We made baskets and that’s what we kept our Easter eggs in and we got to keep everything we found and the person that found it got an egg and read out a clue.

In ICT we have been doing coding. We need to build a house and Collect supplies and go mining. On the first level you need to get to a sheep and move around the screen.

The first three things we have to write down are the company name, company members and there responsibilities. We are doing marketing on flap jacks and here are some e.g.- the sugary biscuits and Lach productions.  The main things we have to do are – how much the food is, the price of the food, how much profit your going to make and a poster or a advertising campaign. We are working in fours or threes our group is called The young chefs Laiba is the manager, Callum is a worker and Teejay the designer for the packages.

Modern Languages

In class we have been developing our existing knowledge of French vocabulary with a focus on pets and animals. With Easter coming this weekend can you identify the French words for the following:

• Happy Easter
• Easter Bunny
• Chocolate egg
• Easter Egg
• Chicken
• Chicks
• Easter basket
• Daffodil

Further opportunities for learning:

• Once you have identified the vocabulary why not create a word search in French using the words you have found? You can bring it into class and give it to someone else to complete.
• Create a mini-book detailing some of the ways Easter is celebrated by the children in France.
• Create a PowerPoint using the vocabulary you have identified to help someone else learn some French vocabulary

Numeracy

In class we have been learning how to simplify improper fractions using the times tables. After we have simplified the fractions we have been learning how to order them on a number line. It would be very beneficial to try this at home independently.

Easter Eggstravaganza

Thursday 24^th March will mark the Woodlands Egg decorating competition. The eggs will be judged on the day and winners for each stage will subsequently be announced. It is a sporting theme this year to coincide with this summer’s Olympics and European Football Championship. I look forward to seeing your eggcellent sporting creations! Please remember to boil your egg before you decorate it!

Why not create a holiday greetings card to send to someone using the French vocabulary you have learned? You could write the whole card in French to make it eggstra special!

Remember you can use your jotter to record any work completed and to show me what you have been learning about at home, I would love to see what you have created! Also if you are unsure of any work you have completed I am always here to help or check how you have gotten on.

Today was sport relief and the whole school joined in with some activities for example blind folded line , dancing or rugby . We got to wear our own clothes to school if we brought a pound . We were in teams of 5 4 3 2 and 1.

Today we were doing H.W.B with Mrs downs and we were writing a plan for someone who has moved to Cumbernauld and writing the safe places to play and places not to play and the ups and downs about the places. We got information from the P5 so we knew what we were writing about. Examples of places not to play The Woods, Town Centre, Mcdonalds/Restaurants. Safe places to play Adventure planet, Air space etc.

Today we have been developing our programming skills by working together to programme the Beebots to follow a set route.

                                     In class we have been learning to simplify fractions. Some people have been visualising while some have been using times tables to simplify fractions. Eg 15/3. You need to do 15 divided by 3, which is 5 so it would be 5 whole. By Ruben and Emma
