This Friday is the pancake breakfast.
To practice, you need to make pancakes! Here is the world’s best pancake recipe.
450g self raising flour
4tbs caster sugar
4tsp baking powder
4 eggs
700 ml of milk
a knob of melted butter
4 tsp golden syrup
Mix all the dry ingredients together, then mix in the wet ingredients and leave for 30 mins before you cook them.
Don’t forget to email any pictures you have of you doing it!

Maths
Go shopping with someone and fill in the bank statement for your shopping.
Remember everything that we have learned about rounding and adjusting when adding and subtracting.
If you want an extra challenge – make a bank statement for three days of spending for your family.
Today we started of with doing a summary about a detailed story and then making it into a short and snappy summary here is one that is fully done and really good.
After Lunch we started of with maths with Miss Armitage she was teaching us about bank statements she was showing us how to keep a balance.

At the start of the day, We were learning about Rural, Urban and green belt and what they mean. They are different areas in citys and towns.

After Mrs Rutherford left we did French. We were learning to spell our name in French. We were also learning to learn the French alphabet.

In literacy we were learning about key features in a non-fiction text.
Nouns: The nouns were finishing off our comprehension from yesterday. Then we made fact sheets.
Verbs: The verbs were still finishing off the comprehension sheets. Then they made a picture of a sea creature and also labelled it afterwards.
Commas: The commas also finished off their comprehension sheet. They then made a fact file.
Today we started a new project on how to write a proper summary. Mrs Armitage started of by reading a short rhyme callled” little red riding hood.” We had to write down our ideas and the key parts down to make a small summary.
Here are some tips on how to write a summary:
Before we did maths we read more of ” Percy Jackson and the Lightning thief.” Some people in the class started to read and we talked about reading fluently as well.
In maths we were learning about money. We were learning about different bank acounts and also interest.
We then went on to our mobile phone topic and finished our mobile phone posters and powerpoints. We were learning about the evolution of mobile phones and also the history of mobile phones.

This morning we did phases that people say and what they mean e.g “that’s a piece of cake ”a piece of cake means that something is easy we also did other ones like burn the midnight oil.
These are called IDIOMS!
We went to I.C.T and went on scratch.

Then we made a learning ladder for scratch.
After break we did the answers for the cooking prices.
Then we went to assembly and sang songs and did star pupils.
After that we went to lunch. After lunch we were reading our books and when we read we had to read like a river flow not like a robot!
THERE CALLED ROBOTS AND RIVERS!
5 minutes after we went to assembly again because a visitor came in to talk to us.In assembly the visitor was talking about Catchment areas.
FunFact consultation ends today.
Then we all did a sheet about proposals of people moving house.
After we read again then after reading.
Before we did French we went to see the bees 🐝 they weren’t out today because it was too cold.
In French we did a listening activity to help us recognise the sounds of the french alphabet.

We are focusing on non-fiction reading for the next two weeks. We are increasing our vocabulary.
Spelling – spelling words based on our non-fiction texts.
Test someone at home to spell these words.

We are learning “grid multiplication”. This is where you split numbers up to make difficult multiplying sums easier.
