****EVERYONE NEEDS PE KIT TOMORROW***
we are doing another children led timetable day tomorrow so get ready to work hard!
as part of our time topic, we are learning to organise and manage our own time.
Mr McMullan gave us all of our work for Tuesday and explain the assessment for it all.
We then had to plan our timetable for the whole day including estimating how long we think each piece of work will take.
We we can do any order that we want and we have a choice of subjects.
The only rule is that you have to get all your maths and language done.
Check back tomorrow to find find out how we got on.
This morning we were learning French.
We we were describing our families and are now able to write a lot in French.
In language we were learning to improve a piece of text by searching for mistakes with a partner then added in to what we had already written.
In maths this we were learning to find the difference between two times.
Top tips – don’t get confused by 100 so always keep 60 in your head. If you have a sum you don’t know straight away use a number line.
During singing practice we had an epic sing off.
Mr McMullan and Liam crushed the opposition with journey!
After lunch we were working with Lindsey from the High School to get ready for the two day visit.
Enjoy the High School and do us proud!
Homework week beginning 29th May
Maths
We are doing a week of time! Mainly we will be focusing on managing our own time and organising time within our lives. If you want extra work on telling the time, or changing the time between 12 and 24 hour time, let me know.
For homework
School show
Listen to the songs at least 3 times – teach the words to someone at home.
Today the children came in with a big smile, because they all had such a good weekend!
French
Today in French, we were doing a worksheet. That you had to fill in the blank, there was a paragraph about someone’s family and you had to fill in the missing words. Also at the bottom there was a true or false sheet about the paragraph above. Here is a child’s work to show.
This child was very successful because he had his French book out to help and remembering past knowledge. He also had a accident with his water bottle and soaked his sheet, but it is still a great piece of work.
Writing
Today in writing we were, writing a letter to our future S1 high school english teacher. The high school sent a message to write this and our English teacher will get it soon, you should start it in a interesting way to keep there attention. We told them stuff like:
Everyone was very successful as shown below.
This is child was very successful, they used similes, VCOP, connectives, openers, vocabulary, punctuation etc. Also this child has neat handwriting and is going to write this on a piece of paper so they can send it to the high school!
H.W.B
Today in Helath and wellbeing, we were learning about the difference between, friendship and relationship. We were getting options and we drew a Venn diagram and we had to write the option into, friendship, relationship or both.
