Maths

We have been learning about the value of numbers and have started exploring decimals. Next we will be learning to organise numbers by their size, including decimals. We will also be revising times tables and learning double digit times tables.

For homework you can

  • Organise these numbers into smallest to largest

Language

We are learning to take notes and to organise them. We are also exploring the shapes of our spelling words. In writing we are planning a story inspired by Roald Dahl for a competition.

For homework:

  • Watch a TV show/movie and take notes. Organise the notes into sections eg main characters, main events, interesting features, setting.
  • Draw the shape of spelling words. Colour the tall letters green, the letters below the line yellow and the normal letters blue.
  • Watch the news and take notes about a story.

We are planning a topic about insects. We are going to learn about their anatomy, their habits, their lifestyle and where they live.

For homework

  • Write down questions you would like to know the answer to about insects. (aim for at least 6)
  • Research your favourite insect and draw a picture of their body.
