Numeracy
In class we have been learning about quadrilaterals and their properties. We have been identifying what quadrilaterals are and investigating their internal angles, diagonals and length of sides.
Ideas for further practise at home:
- Draw a quadrilateral shape and measure its internal angles.
- Create a Venn diagram to help categorise the shapes. E.g. Different Length of Sides and Diagonals Bisect at 90°.

Literacy
Reading: Prediction – We have been trying to guess what happens next in our reading books using clues from the text to help us.
Writing: Poetry – We have been learning to use verses, including punctuation for every phrase, use similes and SPELL ACCURATELY!
Spelling: Prefixes (E.g. dis, un, pre) disused, unknown, prepare
Ideas for further practise at home:
- Can you predict the ending of a book you are reading at home and write your own ending?
- Try writing a poem remembering to check you have included everything.

Japan topic – Origami and School Life
Ideas for further practise at home:
- Try creating your own origami crane at home.
- Serve your family dinner the same way lunch is served in a Japanese school.
Remember you can use your thinking jotter to record any thoughts or ideas you have when looking at these topics and I would love to see anything you create at home!
