Please click the links below to access our most recent letter (19th Feb, 2021) and the website edition of our senior learner phased return guide in preparation for small groups of senior phase learners to begin returning to school from Monday 22nd February.
This letter and the accompanying guide has also been posted to all S4 – S6 learners on their year group Microsoft Team this afternoon, following their online assemblies with Mr. Mitchell this afternoon. They have also been sent via email to all parents/carers, including S1 – S3 parents/carers for information so that everyone across our community is aware of our arrangements.
You will have tuned in to or heard about the First Minister’s announcement on 16th Feb. As expected, we are now working towards confirming our planning for small groups of young people in the senior phase to begin a phased return from Monday 22nd February (based on 5-8% of the school roll). This will be arranged to complete agreed/identified practical work that is critical and where it is absolutely necessary for that learning to take place in school.
As you will understand, there are a number of factors to clarify and consider and further guidance will come from Scottish Government and thereafter, NLC over the coming days. Our plans will be confirmed and communicated as relevant by Friday 19th February.
Please click the link below to access our most recent correspondence about our phased return plans which will begin on Monday 22nd Feb. We look forward to communicating further with you later this week.
16.2.2021 – Parent Update Phase Return
Additionally, along with the other protective measures we are implementing to keep our school community safe, regular testing of staff and senior phase pupils will help to further reduce risks for staff and children and young people in our school. With this in mind, senior pupils who will be attending school from Monday 22nd February will have the opportunity to engage in Lateral Flow Testing (LFT) and kits will be provided by the school. Please click the link below to access further information. Those likely to be invited in to school from Monday 22nd February will receive an email/text by Thursday 18th February with further guidance and information.
Chryston High School has, as part of our core vision, the care of families and our community at its heart. We work with our partners at Skills Development Scotland (SDS) to support our young people into employment, through apprenticeships and permanent employment, as well as Further and Higher Education every day.
In the current economic climate, many of our families also face unstable employment opportunities, and very often this includes being made redundant.
We are here to help. Our partners at SDS have dedicated resources to help you find employment for the first time, or to get back into employment after a period of redundancy or unemployment.
