Class Teacher: Mr Trench

Hello everyone! We have an exciting and busy term ahead in P5! Here is a little overview of some of the learning we will be focusing on across the curriculum.

Literacy
We will focus on personal writing, alongside developing reading comprehension, spelling, grammar, punctuation and handwriting skills.

Numeracy & Mathematics
Pupils will develop number and place value skills and explore mental strategies for addition and subtraction, with appropriate support and challenge.

Health & Wellbeing
We will explore growth mindset, goal setting and Meta-Skills, developing confidence, resilience, teamwork and independence.

Physical Education
Our focus will be athletics, developing running, jumping and throwing skills, alongside teamwork and sportsmanship. PE days are Tuesday and Thursday.

Social Studies
Our topic is Italy, exploring its geography, cities, landmarks, culture and way of life.

Technologies & ICT
Pupils will develop computational thinking and digital skills through sequencing, algorithms, problem-solving and debugging.

Expressive Arts
We will develop drawing and observational skills through line, shape, pattern, tone and texture.

Religious & Moral Education
Pupils will explore religious festivals and celebrations, comparing traditions and the values they represent.
