Primary 1a

Class Teacher: Mrs Smith

Hello everyone! Welcome to the Primary 1A class webpage.

We have settled so well into school and have been exploring our classroom and making lots of new friends.

In literacy we have started to learn our letters and sounds which will help us to read and write. We have also been enjoying lots of stories which are helping us to develop our talking and listening skills which are very important, as they help us to communicate our ideas and opinions and to listen and learn from each other.

In numeracy we have been working on numbers to 10. We have been counting and learning how to form them correctly and we will move onto bigger numbers and look at numbers to 20/50/100 over the rest of the year. We will soon be learning to order and sequence numbers, add, subtract, recognise shapes and patterns, tell the time and lots more.

We love to learn through play in Primary 1! As we explore, experiment, and ask question we expand our imagination, creativity and thinking skills. Every day we have fun as we develop new skills such as problem solving, communication, sharing, and working with others to name a few!

We are also learning about our school values, and how we need to be kind, honest, always try our best, and never give up!

We have a very busy school year ahead of us with lots of great experiences and learning opportunities to be part of, what a fun and exciting learning journey we have ahead of us this year!
