Primary 1

Class Teacher: Mrs Smith

Hello everyone! Welcome to Primary 1’s class webpage!

We love to learn through play in Primary 1! As we explore, experiment, and ask question we expand our imagination, creativity and thinking skills. Every day we have fun as we develop new skills such as problem solving, sharing, and working with others to name a few.

In Literacy we have started to learn our letters and sounds which will help us to read and write. We have also been enjoying lots of stories which are helping us to develop our talking and listening skills which are very important, as they help us to communicate our ideas and opinions and to listen and learn from each other.

In Numeracy we have been working on our counting and our number formation and will soon be learning to order and sequence numbers, add, subtract, recognise shapes and patterns, tell the time and lots more.

Health and wellbeing is also a big focus in Primary 1 and we will be learning how to stay safe, how to deal with different emotions and how to be a good friend. We are also learning about our school values, and how we need to be kind, honest, always try our best, and never give up!

We are making lots of new friends, learning new routines and becoming more independent every day! We have such a fun and exciting learning journey ahead of us this year!

PE days: Monday and Thursday
