Primary 2/1

Class Teacher: Mrs Smith

In Primary 2 /1 our learning is full of fun, curiosity, and creativity!

We work hard every day developing our literacy and numeracy through games, stories, songs, and real-life experiences that help us to build strong foundations and develop confidence.

Our primary one pupils are making great friendships and have all settled so well into school with the help of our fabulous primary two role models.

In numeracy over the year our primary ones will be developing their knowledge of numbers and how to form them correctly and they will also be learning how to count, sequence, add and subtract numbers too. In literacy, they will be learning letter sounds and then phonemes and how a sentence is written to help them read and write.

Our primary twos, will be looking at numbers to 100 and beyond. We will be learning about place value and how to recognise, write and sequence numbers as well as learning to skip count in 10s, 2s and 5s. In literacy they will also be learning new phonemes and about different types of words like adjectives and verbs to help them develop their reading and writing further.

We will also all be developing our dialogic skills to help us take an active part in discussions and share our views effectively as well as building on our knowledge of shape, time, money and so much more!

In Primary 2/1, we love to learn through play. As we explore, experiment, and ask questions, we grow our imagination and creativity, and develop so many skills including problem-solving, sharing, and teamwork to name just a few!

We have a busy school year ahead of us with lots of fun opportunities to enjoy new learning together and to be all we can be!
