Primary 4/3

Class Teacher: Miss Shaw

Hello everyone! Welcome to P4/3’s class webpage! We are really enjoying being back at school and working and playing with all our friends again. We have also loved getting to know some new ones within our composite class!

In class, we do numeracy and literacy work every day, starting things off each morning with number talks and sick sentences. Talking about our learning in this way helps us share our thinking and learn from each other, becoming more confident in our skills. We have focused on using dialogue all across our learning, and started the year by making our talking and listening “Y-chart”. This reminds us of what a good discussion looks like, sounds like and feel like, so we can make the most of all our class communication.

Our topic this term has been “Superheroes”! We are learning all about being super pupils, super learners and super members of the community, creating our class charter, developing a growth mindset and exploring how to keep ourselves, our school and our community safe, happy and healthy. We will also be investigating our Superhero community, looking at map work and real life superheroes who help ensure that all our needs are met.

Our PE days and Monday and Tuesday and we will be continuing to have these sessions outside where possible, continuing to be safe and enjoy our outdoor learning environment.

We are all visible learners in P4/3 and regularly reflect on our learning and progress, knowing what our goals are and how we will achieve them. You can follow our learning journey on Twitter and we look forward to sharing our experiences with those who look after us at home!
