The Careers Adviser, Mrs Dunlop will be in school on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Careers appointments will now be displayed on the UCAS notice board outside the Head Teacher’s office and on the notice board outside the Careers Library. Pupils should check these notice boards on Mondays for appointments. Please note Mrs Dunlop may have arranged an appointment for you even if you have not requested one so it is essential you consult these notice boards regularly.

UCAS –Strathclyde University Presentation
Thursday 6th September, Period 6, SS Hall
On Thursday 6th September, a visiting speaker from Strathclyde University will visit Lourdes to deliver a presentation to UCAS applicants. The presentation will focus on choosing a course and University and applying through UCAS. All UCAS candidates should report promptly to the Concert Hall at the beginning of Period 6.
HIGHER EDUCATION CONVENTION 2012
Wednesday 19th September, Glasgow Science Centre
The annual Higher Education Convention takes place at Glasgow Science Centre on Wednesday 19th September. This is a fantastic opportunity for S6 pupils to meet representatives of universities, colleges, charities, gap year companies, recruiters and organisations from across the UK and find out about the wealth of opportunities available post school. There are limited spaces available for this event. Please sign up asap on the UCAS noticeboard outside the Head Teacher’s office. The list of exhibitors represented at the Convention is also posted on the Noticeboard for your information.

Mags Currie, Employability Support Officer is in school today from 9.00-3.00 to offer support and advice to UCAS applicants on all aspects of the UCAS process, in particular the Personal Statement. All UCAS candidates are urged to take advantage of this additional support during their free periods. There will be 2 further drop in days for Personal Statements on 11th September and 2nd October. All of this information is displayed on the UCAS noticeboard.

Justice and Peace Group
Some students who indicated an interest in joining the group cannot manage to meetings on Tuesdays during lunch break. The Justice and Peace group will now meet on Thursdays at 1pm in Room 137. Next meeting is, therefore, this Thursday 6th September.
