iPad Solutions

Dear all,

We are aware that there are a number of issues surrounding iPads at the moment.

Education Scotland are still investigating the intermittent problems with Microsoft Teams and Microsoft applications on the iPad.

CGI (IT Support) are currently addressing proxy issues repeatedly appearing on the iPads, unfortunately we are unable to fix this at present and apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. I hope to have an update soon regarding this.

If “Proxy Authentication Required” does appear on the iPad pupils should take the following steps:

Click settings

Type in School Computer Username

Type in School Computer Password

If “Proxy Authentication Required” reappears it may be down to the fact that the iPad software needs updated therefore pupils should take the following steps:

Go to Settings

General

Software Update

Click Update if not currently sitting on IOS 14.3

If pupils are unable to access the Internet, it may be that they have clicked “not now” on the Proxy Authentication Required, therefore they should take the following steps:

Go to Settings

Safari

Click on Clear History and Website Data

Power off iPad

Power iPad back on

Click on Safari app

Proxy will appear a final time and school details should be entered (Username and password for school computer)

Many thanks, Mrs McMullan (Faculty Head, BECS)

Technical Issues with Microsoft Teams today across Scotland

Dear Parents and pupils

People across Scotland have been experiencing today technical problems related to Microsoft Teams, the first day of home/online schooling.

The First Minister has acknowledged this in her daily briefing.

Microsoft is working to address these issues.

In the meantime, staff would like to reassure pupils that they can still be contacted during their timetabled class times.

We will keep you updated with any developments.

Best wishes.
