S4, S5 and S6 Pupils – Completion of SQA Related Work

We continue with learning and teaching with regard to coursework, with revision and with assessment to ensure that pupils have the best grade possible in their SQA subjects.

We anticipate that almost all work in departments will be completed between the 4th and the 11th of June. Pupils will only need to attend after this if they require further evidence to support their provisional SQA result. Departments will invite individual pupils in to school to complete any necessary tasks.

I will confirm an exact finish date for pupils as soon as possible.

At present, it is our intention to release all SQA provisional results for all pupils on Monday 21st June.

JP Morgan Work Experience

Our programme partners, JP Morgan have information about their upcoming virtual work experience programme. The application process will be open between 22nd and 29th April. Please see below the information from JP Morgan.

We wanted to give you advance notice of the application window that will open shortly for our Virtual Work Experience 2021 Programme in Glasgow for S4-S6 students.

This programme gives students a comprehensive overview of the industry and introduces them to our different business areas. They’ll have a chance to participate in seminars, interactive presentations, case studies and group exercises. It’s an invaluable opportunity to begin building their network and laying the groundwork for their future.

To apply to this programme students should visit our website http://www.jpmorgan.com/workexperience on 22 April. Applications will stay open until 29 April, meaning that students can only apply during this period.

Applicants will be asked for a short statement giving reasons for wanting to take part in the programme, after which they will be invited to undertake a recorded video interview. We will then select our attendees from that group.

Due to the ongoing pandemic situation and to ensure the safety of all attendees the Work Experience 2021 Programme will be held virtually.

Holy Week Reflection

Palm Sunday (28th March) marked the beginning of Holy Week, a year into the pandemic most of us wouldn’t have imagined we would be celebrating another Easter under restrictions….now more than ever, we are moving forward and see a light at the end of the tunnel.

Undoubtedly, this year has challenged us in ways we never considered, we have all had our personal versions of a cross to bear, yet as Pope Francis says:

“Having faith does not mean having no difficulties, but having the strength to face them knowing we are not alone.”

Sadly, we cannot come together in reflection and prayer just yet but Fr David has kindly recorded a brief service for our school community. We warmly invite you to take 15 minutes, listen to the words and take some time for yourself.
