S5 and S6 Tracking Reports being issued today.

Both you and your child will receive today, by email, a copy of their First Tracking Report for this school session.

The report provides details of your child’s subjects and SQA levels along with their Current Grades for the subjects they are studying at Lourdes Secondary School.  There is also an indication of any concerns which teachers have about these grades.  Details of how to interpret the colours of your child’s Attitude to Learning is attached at the link below. Current grades reflect each pupil’s performance in their subjects based on the assessment evidence we have to date. The grades may go up or down in the months ahead, based on each pupil’s progress, as teachers continue to deliver the content of the courses.

If you have any concerns, or if there is anything you would like to discuss further, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s Pastoral Care Teacher.

S1 & S2 – NET Retreats

Dear Parent/Carer,

Religious Education – NET Retreats

At Lourdes Secondary School, we believe that learning doesn’t just take place in the classroom but through real life experiences that help to broaden horizons and develop the faith of our pupils.

We are delighted to inform you that all S1 & S2 pupils will have the opportunity to join NET Ministries Scotland for workshops that allow pupils to discuss, reflect and celebrate their faith. These will take place over various times and dates in May and updates will be shared on Twitter.

Further information about the team can be found here: https://netscotland.org/

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me via the school office.

Yours sincerely,

TKillin

School Meals

From Friday 25th  March 2022 if you pay for your child’s meals, you must do so via ParentPay. Catering staff will no longer accept cash and the current reval machines will be deactivated.

Meals’ Cards – All pupils will be issued with a new card that they will require to present at the till. This is for both pupils who are in receipt of an FSM and those who pay.

Card Security – Please ensure that your child keeps this card safe as there may be a charge for any replacement cards.

In addition, please ensure that the card is not altered in any way, eg holes punched, stickers etc as this can affect how the card operates.

If you have any queries or concerns about this or activating your ParentPay account, please contact the school office.

Kind regards

Ukrainian Humanitarian Appeal

Lourdes Secondary is taking part in a humanitarian appeal together with the “Magical Smiles” Scottish Charity, to support the Ukrainian crisis. The charity will be collecting clothes and toiletries to be sent to Poland and distributed to those people who, sadly, have been forced to leave their homes.

A drop off space will be organised within the school and donated items can be brought into school from today.

Volunteers from the Magical Smiles charity intend to collect the items Thursday 17th March in Lourdes Secondary.

Thanks in advance for your support.
