LGBT Month

The Stars class read the book ‘No Matter What’ for LGBT month.  We were all responsible citizens and felt we are all the same no matter what we look like or what our families consist of. We did lots of activities including making rainbow flag cupcakes, rainbow love heart pictures, rainbow hand prints and printed a purple picture of grapes. Our week finished with purple activities in the hall which were great fun.

Spaghetti Bolognaise

The Transition boys were Effective Contributors when they all worked together to make Spaghetti Bolognaise. Some of the boys used their chopping skills and others safely added the ingredients to the pan. They all used their numeracy skills to weigh out individual portions of pasta. We then sat down to share the food. What  a tasty conclusion to a lesson.

50 Things – Bubbles

The Stars class enjoyed time in the sensory garden blowing bubbles. At times it was so windy the bubbles blew themselves! It was a good thing we were all wrapped up warmly. In the better weather we will return to the garden to blow bubbles using large rings and rope.

FAOL – Sciences – Ice Ornaments

The Stars class collected leaves and new buds from the garden, placed in a paint tray then covered them with water. Had the weather been cold we would have put the tray outside to freeze however as the weather has been mild we froze them in the school freezer instead. This produced fantastic ice ornaments which unfortunately soon melted.
