Easter Fun

Despite it being a short week, we still managed to get a lot of work done in the Oak class.  A lot of work this week has had a literacy focus,  fine motor skills,  listening, observing, and comprehension of instructions.

It has been a busy but fun week with all the boys being successful learners and confident individuals in all the tasks we completed.

Sean had a great session on the trampoline during his rebound session, he was very relaxed and cooperative.  He signed for ‘more’ several times when he and had great eye contact during his cool down session.

We decorated our eggs with some aboriginal art to go along with our Australian topic work.

We also made some Easter cookies, we were all effective contributors when we made and decorated them.  Some cookies never made it home, they went straight into tummies as soon as they were iced.

We made some Easter glasses and Nathan really enjoyed wearing his, he kept them on all day.

Easter Bingo and Blake was the winner ‘Full House’.  The boys were working on their listening and comprehension skills whilst  playing the game.

It was been a lovely week with lost of sunshine, the boys have enjoyed some time outside with their friends playing with the ball.

We made some colourful eggs, whilst working on our fine motor skills.  We did some weaving and tape to create two different style of eggs.

We met some lovely lambs two were only 1 day old and enjoyed a cuddle from some of our boys.  They were all very gentle and quiet when petting and cuddling the lambs. Lots of smiles all round.

FAOL – Music – Bang, Tap, Stop! Song

The Snowdrops have been enjoying using percussion instruments to accompany songs by playing loudly or softly. They are also very good at knowing when to play and when to stop playing during songs. Our new song we are currently learning is called ‘Bang, Tap, Stop!’ which requires the class to play loudly and quietly as well as follow directions such as start and stop. They are having really good fun and love playing the variety of drums that we have in our music room.

FAOL – Music – using actions and percussion

The Daisies have been learning a new song at music called ‘We’re Going Around The World’ as an introduction to their new theme. All pupils have enjoyed coming along to do music in our music room and being able to explore and play a variety of percussion instruments. We have been learning some key signs and actions for our song as well as playing the claves, castanets and clackers to accompany the tune. Hayden also enjoyed performing a solo for his class which we managed to get on video too.

We changed things up a bit in the Transition class this week for Numeracy by planting some seeds to grow different vegetables. All the boys were Confident Individuals when asked to count out a certain amount of seeds to plant in the pots. The boys did an excellent job and all cant wait to taste the freshly frown vegetables later in the year.

Red Nose Day

We have had such a fun day raising awareness for Red Nose Day.

Jack and Blake were very confident individuals serving all their customers during café. Great communication skills and it was always service with a smile.

Anthony listened to Blake asking him a question and responded by using makaton without being asked to, it was a lovely moment.

Blake is fantastic at cleaning up after everyone, he didn’t miss a crumb!

Angus has had a fantastic week and has been a confident individual when interacting with his peers.  Angus even came to into the lunch hall to enjoy his haggis, this was the first time in a long long time.
