JRSO 2020 Announcement
Hello! We are the JRSO P7 girls – our names are Lucy, Isla C, Anna, and Sophie P. We would like to say a message about parking.
Many parents drop their children off on the roundabout and at the end of the day parents wait on the roundabout to collect their children. This is an issue because children at the end of the day will be walking home most of the time in groups so this means more than 1 child would be injured if you were to knock them over with your car. Also another issue is that you are not meant to drop your kids off on the roundabout, you don’t park on roundabouts anywhere else! Don’t do it here.
We have many parking spaces but please do not go into the staff car park because this is for staff only. We also have a drop off zone; it is located to the right when you come into the school. Please do not park there because it is not an official parking space so if you are dropping of a child who is unable to walk into the playground themselves, please park in our main parking zone. The previous JRSO’s have put up cones to stop people from parking in the wrong space and or on the kerb. So please listen and don’t park on the kerb or on corners or over driveways in the streets around the school. Thank you so much for reading this post and please try your best to follow these simple rules.

Due to lack of parent helpers, we unfortunately have to cancel the P7 outing today.
The last pick up for orders is on the morning of Thursday 31st October, so please have your orders in tomorrow. Thank you for your support.
Primary 7 Pantomime
Important Dates!
The Primary 7 Pantomime performance is on Wednesday 27th November. There will be an afternoon and an evening performance, details of which will follow.
Primary 7 will also be rehearsing at The Take a Bow Centre for the full day on Tuesday 26th November, again details will follow.
Help with the transport of pupils to and from the take a Bow Centre on these dates would be very much appreciated.
Miss Davidson and Mrs Mackie will also be offering after school rehearsals, for those who wish to come along, on Tues 22nd & 29th Oct, 5th, 12th and 19th Nov from 3.15 – 4.15pm.
If any parent in the school wishes to help us with costumes or scenery please contact the school, this would be very much appreciated.
**Reminder**
The area beside the garden is for drop off only, this helps to keep the traffic flowing.
Do not park on the roundabout.
Blue badge holders only in the disabled spaces.
***
No cars at any time must park in the staff/visitors car park.
***
Considerate parking in the streets around the school please. Is blocking a driveway or parking on the corner the correct safest choice?
Do we really need to bring the car? Could you get up 5 minutes earlier and walk?
Please make safe and responsible choices!
Once again we are receiving complaints from people who live near the school about inconsiderate and dangerous parking. If you have to bring a car to drop off or collect a child, please keep away from corners and stop parking across driveways. Ask anyone who collects your child to do the same! Be considerate and respectful please.
We also have another problem, people are continuing to park in the drop off zone and on the roundabout, despite our lovely new signs clearly telling you not to!
Pollution! As a school we are teaching children to look after the environment. Many classes are learning about air pollution and about the impact it has on our health. Cars are big cause of air pollution and we been aware of people parking for long periods of time with their engine running! Car idling is an offence. Please stop this. Ask yourself, do I need to bring a car at all?
Please help us and stop this once and for all.
