Primary 7 Scots Poetry and Art Competition
Judging took place on 15th of February for P7 Scots Poetry finalists and Art competition. Mrs Cathro and Mr Roan from Dalbeattie Burns Club visited school to carryout the judging. Once again standards amongst finalists was very high and the gentlemen didn’t have an easy job with the judging. In fact all finalists received 5/5 for effort. Standards in the art competition were also very high with lots of variety in the compositions.

Operation Safety
Primary 7 pupils attended Operation Safety on Friday 29th of September in Dumfries. The children learned about Internet Safety, Fire Safety and First Aid.Thank you to all emergency services and organisations involved in delivering the workshops.

Primary 7 Catering Skills
12 P7 pupils accompanied Mrs Duncan to Dalbeattie High School to prepare afternoon tea for current and former staff attending an after school event at Dalbeattie Primary. The pupils worked with Mrs Houston from Dalbeattie High School to make tray bakes,scones,short break and savoury snacks for the event. The food created was thoroughly enjoyed by guests at the afternoon tea.
Smoking Matters
Last term P6,P6/7 and P7 classes all took part in a design competition run by Smoking Matters. The pupils were to design a flag that could be used to encourage people to stop smoking and help Scotland to become a smoke free nation by 2020. Jenny from P7 was awarded 2nd place in the competition. Well done Jenny a fantastic flag design.
