P2/3 and P3 Woodland Activities

Fantastic morning spent up the Rounall Woods today(11.9.19)!
The children had such great fun exploring, identifying and building! After a successful scavenger hunt the children worked in teams to design and build their own ‘Home for a Hedgehog’ and Stick Skeleton!
Cooperation, problem solving and creativity at its best!!!

We are all Unique

P2/3 have recently been focusing on what makes us all unique; specifically – HWB outcome 1-47a ‘recognising similarities and differences, but that we are all unique.’

Mrs Wixon gave the children a few weeks notice to decide which skill/ability they would like to share with the class, and they did not disappoint!  Here are a few photos of just some of the skills which were shared on the day.  It proved invaluable in terms of discussion and realising that everyone is good at something!

P2/3 Fairyland Topic

The children in P2/3 thoroughly enjoyed their Fairyland topic this term and were so excited by all the visits from the Friendly Dragon. They asked if they could dress up as characters from fairytales to celebrate the end of the topic and brought in fairytales from home to share in class – thank you for the effort put in at home to make this happen. Here are some pictures of work from our topic and our dress up day on Tuesday.

P2/3’s Visit from Blood Bikes

Last term P2/3 were learning about transport and as part of their topic the children asked if they could learn about the role of the Blood Bikes. Yesterday, Dave Hook from D&G Blood Bikes kindly visited our class to tell the children all about the important job they do, the different forms of transport used by them and how the service is run.

The children thoroughly enjoyed their insight into the vital role that the Blood Bike volunteers provide for our region and asked some great questions. Dave even let each child sit on ‘June’, the Blood Bike he brought with him, and everyone was given a wristband, badge and information leaflet to take home.
