RAG BAG NEXT WEEK

Next week is Rag Bag Day on Wednesday 4th September. If you would like to contribute to this, please bring or send any bags of unwanted clothing items into school by the end of the school day on Tuesday 3rd . That way,  we are ready for the uplift first thing in the morning of the 4th September. As before, items can be in any bag; we no longer send home official bags.  Thank you so much for your support with this. The weight of items collected is converted directly into funds for our school eco work. Thank you!

Assembly 23.8.24

We held our first assembly of the new session on 23rd of August. It was great to have the whole school together looking smart in their uniforms.

The assembly focused on reviewing our Vision Values and Aims, SHANARRI and expectations of the year ahead. Some very clear messages were shared with the children about their behaviour and expectations around this both in class and int he playground.. We also talked about lost property and children taking responsibility for their own belongings. We really don’t want to be accumulating the amounts that we had last year.

We are looking forward to the year ahead and will share weekly assembly posts.

Kippford RNLI Poster Competition Update

RNLI poster competition update…
Today is Kippford Lifeboat Open Day. The station is looking forward to welcoming people to Kippford RNLI on Saturday 6th July between 11am and 2pm. You’ll be able to visit the boathouse, enjoy tea and a cake and browse the shop.
The school poster entries are displayed on the station walls. The winner will be notified once the school holidays are over and will be invited along to a station tour, then, to receive their prize.
In the meantime, do pop along to the open day. Weather and operational commitments allowing, they hope to have Kirkcudbright RNLI Lifeboat Station, Workington Lifeboat, Nith Inshore Rescue and HM Coastguard Portling Search and Rescue there too.

P7 Leavers Evening

Well a bit short on photos from this evening but the P7s have had a fantastic night of fun. Slip and slide, water balloons, water guns, super soakers, face paints, just dance, fizzy drinks and treats. A lovely way to end what was a special day for them as they prepare to move to secondary school in August.

RSAC Scottish Rally Launch

The children had the opportunity today to look round two of the rally cars that will be taking apart in the RSAC Scottish Rally when it comes to Dalbeattie on 20th July. The children got to sit in the cars and imagine what it might be like to drive or be co-driver/navigator. The emergency vehicle used at the rally was also available fort he children to look at. There were certainly lots of questions being asked, horns hooted and sirens tested.

Thank you to Peter Clingan and the RSAC committee for involving the school  in this  event.

If you are in and around Dalbeattie on 20th of July why not check out the service area at Jas. P. Wilsons

The winners of the colouring competition were also announced as part of the launch today.

1st Isabella , 2nd Lucas,3rd Izzy and highly comment to Ella.
