Christmas Service in Church
Today, we walked, for the first time since moving into our new Learning Campus, the much shorter distance to Dalbeattie and Kirkgunzeon Parish Church for our end of term Christmas Service. Three Primary 7 readers re-told the Christmas story, in a script specially prepared by Mrs Duncan, and this was interspersed with some beautiful Christmas singing.
P2/3 Fairyland Topic
The children in P2/3 thoroughly enjoyed their Fairyland topic this term and were so excited by all the visits from the Friendly Dragon. They asked if they could dress up as characters from fairytales to celebrate the end of the topic and brought in fairytales from home to share in class – thank you for the effort put in at home to make this happen. Primary 3 Christmas Singers
We are so proud of our Primary 3 singers who have been off to share their festive cheer in the local community recently at Dalbeattie Day Centre and at Munches and Alma Care Homes. Today, in school they performed for us! What a lovely treat to put us all in the Christmas mood….
Primary 7 Christmas Party
A wonderful evening was held by all when our Primary 7 were our first young people to have their party in our new school hall in Dalbeattie Learning Campus with a delicious buffet being served in the Heughan Hall. Thanks to all staff involved for helping to make it a great night. Here are a few pictures which help to capture the event….
P1’s Christmas Enterprise!
Last week P1 invited parents and friends to a small Christmas Craft Sale to buy various items they had been busy making the week before. Everything was sold out! We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who came and supported us as we have made £144.60! This will be going towards a school trip next year.
P3 Community Singing
P3 have been very busy over the last couple of weeks. They have been learning some Christmas songs in class and visited Alma House, Munchies Care Home and Dalbeattie Day Centre to entertain guests and residents with their singing.
Christmas Jumper Day 2017
Today, we came to school wearing our Christmas jumpers to raise money for Save The Children. At the time of posting, the exact amount is not known exactly but is thought to be over £140.
All children may not be in the photos as some may have been busy elsewhere when pictures were taken……Here is a taste, however, of the huge variety of jumpers which were on display.
