Certificates will be issued to all children who took time to take part after the holidays.
Well done everyone!!

The entries were judged by the Co-op staff. The winners in each category (Primary 1-2, Primary 3-4 and Primary 5-7) can be seen here.
Thank you Dalbeattie Co-op!
Work Begins On Site
Work has begun on our new Dalbeattie Learning Campus. In Term 4, we shall be taking classes to view the construction site. We are very grateful to Dalbeattie High School for helping to organise this in partnership with us. We are also delighted to be able to contribute, from time to time, to a weekly bulletin, produced by the High School, for the new build site. We shall provide links to this when available. Dalbeattie Primary School will also update this page with pictures of our class visits, as they happen, and give a brief overview of progress on site. Please also note, that the Primary School has a display of the plans and construction timetable for your information, on the wall next to the Office area.In the meantime, we are pleased to post the following two photographs of the site, taken from the High School’s windows.
Sport Relief 2016
The children came to school dressed in their sportswear ready for a classroom workout on Sport Relief Day, 18th March 2016. All classes joined in with a Sport Relief action song and brought in 50p each. The school raised £154 for Sport Relief 2016: funds are divided between good causes in the UK and overseas, in less developed countries.
World Book Day March 2016
There were lots of colourful characters in school on Thursday 3rd March. Children came to school dressed as their favourite characters from books they had read. They brought these books to school and shared them with their class. We also had a book swap where the children were able to bring in any unwanted books from home and to swap them for some others.

Eco Group Release our Salmon
We are excited to be participating in the Salmon in the Classroom Project run by Galloway Fisheries Trust. On Thursday, nine of our Eco Committee members, Mrs Howie and Mrs Dyson had the wonderful opportunity to accompany our salmon (known as alevins as they are now hatched) as they were released at the Dee Hatchery next to Loch Ken. Thank you very much to Rowan Armstrong from the Fisheries Trust. We look forward to returning to this release site in the Summer term to see how the salmon have developed.
