Kindness Challenge

Boys and Girl, you will remember we read the book below in assembly a while back and it helped us to understand how things we do and say can affects other peoples feeling and emotions. Our words and actions can affect a persons mental health and wellbeing. Remember it is important to be a bucket filler and not a bucket dipper.

This week is National Mental Health Week and the theme for this is Kindness. I know we have lots of kind boys and girls at Dalbeattie Primary and I would like you to share with your class teacher, Mrs Howie or Mrs Duncan an act of Kindness that you have shown this week.

I have attached some  ideas that might help you to complete this challenge. Please send photos to you class teacher, Mrs Howie or Mrs Duncan. We will share some of these acts of kindness on the blog in future weeks.

Pupil Check In

Children have been sent a second check in form to complete today (15.5.20). Please help your son/daughter access this through their GLOW email (hopefully their direct inbox and not through group this time). If you are logging in more than on pupil into a device and accessing GLOW before you complete the form please check to make sure it is the correct child logged into complete the form. Logging off and completely closing internet browser helps with this process. We look forward to hearing how  pupils are getting on with their learning.

Thank You

Hello from Mrs Duncan and Mrs Howie

Just posting to touch base with you all. Hope you are all safe and well at home with your families.  Well done to all of you who are getting to grips with your first home learning grid. For those of you that have had some issues with technology don’t worry this is a busy time for technology and it will all work out.

We know that some of you have been in touch with your class teacher and have been emailing back and forwards. Teachers would like to hear how you are all getting on. Drop them an email to say hi. Please encourage your son/daughter to check into their emails regularly as teachers may be emailing their classes directly.

We realise that information from the authority around child care for key workers has been varied and ever changing. Please keep a check on D and G Council Facebook page for this. Thank you to all staff and volunteers who have been part of our Community hub so far.

Please remember that we are both here should you need to contact the school for anything regarding learning, well being or just to say hi in  these difficult time.

Thank you to  all staff, pupils, parents and carers for your continued support in all matters at this time.

Home Learning, Logins and Medication Information

We are conscious that some parents are concerned they do not have their children’s glow logins. Please be assured that we will get these to you. We have had a number of children who were not in school, yesterday or today, to receive letters and homework/ information packs being sent home. The logins or packs for children who have not been in school will be distributed next week, most likely by hand delivery through your home letter box or, in some cases, they will be posted out. We have tried to make sure that all medication (such as inhalers which are usually kept in school) was sent home with pupils today. However, we have some belonging to children who were absent from school. If you would like your child’s medication, which has not yet come home, please contact the school on Monday to arrange for its collection.
