Our P7 Soccer Sevens team played in the second round of the SFA schools competition at Kilwinning on Thursday 25th of April. They had an enjoyable day playing against teams from different schools and other authorities. The team represented the school very well and showed super sporting behaviour. Unfortunately we didn’t qualify for the finals. Thank you to Amy Bradbury (Active Schools Co-ordinator) for accompanying us to the event.
Today in awards, we had many deserving recipients of Head Teacher’s award certificates for excellent work and effort. We also celebrated the super role models which the Primary 7 football team have been this week. We also presented certificates and prizes to the Library Mascot Winners and runners ups. Today P1F really enjoyed zooming around the playground on their scooters with Katie from ibike and we just managed to dodge the rain!
Last week we shared our favourite books in class and then wrote about them on World Book Day.
Some classes from P3-P7 participated in Scooter Skill activities with Katie from ibike today. The weather was kind to us and all classes got out into the playground to participate in this fun event.
More fun for others tomorrow.
19 pupils from P3-P7 took part in this years Regional Schools Gymnastics Competition. Pupils have attend after school clubs with Mrs Duncan and Amy Bradbury from Active School and developed their skills and techniques to produce routines and vaults for the competition. The pupils all performed well and represented the school extremely well. Our Level 2 team of Sophie, Abbie, Lily and Eva were winners within their section and will now progress to the next round in Perth. Sophie was also the overall winner in the Level 2 section.
Today, our awards were given for achievement and effort in numeracy. In addition to finding out about these winners, we also learned about some bug hotel work, in partnership with Threave NTS, from Primary 3 pupils. Also celebrated, was swimming success for Jessica, Aulay and Ruari. The Wow Tracker (active routes to school) November monthly award was presented to Primary 5 for their results in walking to school.
Pupils from Dalbeattie Primary participated in a Tag Rugby tournament today at Stewartry Rugby Club organised by Active Schools. The children enjoyed the experience and played well as a team supporting and encouraging each other at all times. In the final results, Dalbeattie Primary were second overall. Well done to all other teams who participated today. Thank you to Amy and Louise and their team from Active schools for organising the event. Thank you to the rugby club for use of the facilities.
Well done to the Primary Six Soccer Sevens team today who participated in the DGSFA Soccer Sevens tournament at Palmerston Arena. The team won two of their games and lost two games. The team played well together supporting and encouraging each other throughout the games. Sporting attitudes were very good throughout the tournament.
Congratulations to the Primary 7 football team who represented Dalbeattie Primary School today in the DGSFA Concept Soccer 7’s Tournament at Palmerstone Arena in Dumfries. The team were the winners within their league and will progress to the next round of the tournament. The team demonstrated skill on the pitch and a high standards of sporting behaviour. Mrs Duncan and Thomas McMurtrie were both very proud to have taken the team to the event today. The team are now looking forward to hearing where the next round of the tournament will take place.
