Regional Gymnastics Competition
30 pupils from Dalbeattie Primary attended the regional gymnastics competition on Saturday 24th of February. The competition took place at Lockerbie Academy and was in two parts, vault and floor routine. Pupils had been working on both elements during afterschool clubs with Mrs Bradbury, Abi, Kerry and Mrs Duncan. The pupils all performed very well but faced strong competition on the day. Thank you to all those who gave up their time to organise and run the clubs. Thanks also to parents and grandparents for transporting pupils to the event and your support throughout the day.
Well done gymnasts.

Judging took place on 15th of February for P7 Scots Poetry finalists and Art competition. Mrs Cathro and Mr Roan from Dalbeattie Burns Club visited school to carryout the judging. Once again standards amongst finalists was very high and the gentlemen didn’t have an easy job with the judging. In fact all finalists received 5/5 for effort. Standards in the art competition were also very high with lots of variety in the compositions.

Scots Poetry Winners
On Thursday 8th of February, class teachers swapped classes for the morning to under take our annual Scots poetry judging. Class teachers had selected 10 pupils to go through in each class to finals day. The standards in all classes were once again very high and staff had some difficult decisions to make during the judging process. Well done to all pupils for learning their poems and participating in this event. Congratulations also to our overall winners. P7 judging will take place on Thursday 15th of February when we will be joined by members of Dalbeattie Burns Club.
