P4/5 had a fantastic time designing and creating their own marble runs yesterday using the Kapla bricks. Mr Caldow set the criteria and the children worked in teams to create and test their constructions.

Award Winners
Well done to all those presented with their Head Teacher Award 10.11.19. Some great learning taking place in all classes this week. Spooky writing and poetry featured this week as did good manners from one pupil on a recent school trip. Well done everyone keep up the great work.
Tidy cloakroom award this week went to Primary 5.
Breakfast and Banter
Breakfast and Banter is now into its second week. The children are enjoying their healthy breakfasts with a choice of locally sourced products. The opportunity to have some banter with others during activities and games is also great to see.

Junior Hardrock Challenge 2019
Well done to all pupils who took part in the Junior Hardrock Challenge 5.10.19.
Sponsored Walks
We had two fantastic sponsored walks today. The sun shone and we had a great time out round the local woods. Thank you to all parents and family members for joining us today. All funds raised will be shared between classes to support with transport provision for trips.
Author Visit
Vivian French visited school today to talk to all classes about her career as an author. Vivian read and created stories with classes throughout her visit and answered questions from the pupils. Thank you to Wigtown Book Festival for organising this event for us.
Displays Around the School
PC Blacklock Visitis P1/2
P1/2 enjoyed a visit from PC Blacklock where they learned about the role of the police, their vehicles, how to contact them and their uniform. They had the opportunity to ask lots of questions to help with their topic work in class. Their favourite part was getting to dress up in items of uniform; perhaps we have some future Police Officers in our class.
