Christmas Window Competition.

Today at assembly we announced the winners of our Christmas Window competition in partnership with Dalbeattie Lions Club. There were lots of creative entries celebrating Christmas and the winter season.  Thank you to everyone that took part and thank you to Dalbeattie lions clubs for the generous donations towards prizes.

Assembly and HT Awards

A busy assembly again as always.

We had a fantastic presentation from our play leaders today about a lunchtime club they are going to set up for P3 pupils. The group have planned the club, presented their ideas and will run this in the new term. We saw great leadership, confident individuals, creativity and initiative all through their presentation. Well done.

HT awards were also give out today for a wide variety of reasons. We celebrated commitment to learning, displaying leadership skills in P1,being enthusiastic abut topic work and showing commitment to the school show.  Well done everyone.

Curling Finals

Well done to our P7 team who represented the school at the Stewartry Active Schools curling finals yesterday. The played well and supported each other as they played their shots. thank you to active schools for organising such a great event.

Lights, Camel, Action

A huge well done to P4,P4/5 and P5 classes today on their fantastic performances of the show Lights Camel, Action. There was singing ! There was dancing! There was humour and we certainly had confident individuals in all the classes.

Thank you to all the staff for their involvements in putting the show together. Thank you to our audiences for coming along to watch and support the children.

Assembly and HT Awards

Well, we certainly had a busy assembly today with a full run  through of all our songs for the Church Service at Christmas. Everyone was in great voice and when reminded followed the music well and managed to sing in time and tune.

Mrs Howie and the Eco group shared information about a design competition linked to our Eco code. We had confident individuals standing up and presenting to the whole school.

HT awards today given as always for lots of great reasons. Lots of collaboration mentioned today. Working as classes to produce items to sell at the Christmas Fayre. Pupils showing commitment and confidence as they have taken on parts for the Christmas show were also mentioned today. Mrs Grey has been working on dancing with classes over this last block of work and noted how well some people were taking part in this in PE showing co-ordination and rhythm.

Play Leaders were presented with their certificates today for the training they have undertaken with Amy Niven from active schools. The leaders stood up with confidence and told everyone about the skills they had been developing and what they hope to deliver for the school as play leaders.
