On Monday 24th June, P3 had the opportunity to visit the Galloway Soup Company for our lunch. It was a special treat, but also linked to our Food and Farming topic. After braving the monsoon, we arrived and Joanne provided the children with their lunch and also talked to us about the ingredients she used, discussed sustainability and also her links with local businesses. She really underlined the importance of keeping things local!
We also had a little quiz using some pictures, to find out where the products came from – local honey, milk and strawberries to name a few.
We were sent on our way after having a lovely baby hot chocolate (with marshmallows and cream!), and also an ice cream from Glen Urr. Thank you Joanne for a thoroughly enjoyable lunch. The children and I will be back!
