North Lorn Sports Day Fun – The Rainbow Games
It was Achaleven Primary’s turn to organised Sports Day this year for their school along with Barcaldine, Kilchrenan, Lismore and Strath of Appin schools. Appin kindly offered their facilities for the day. As we are a collection of schools we decided on a collection of colours for our theme – a rainbow! The pupils from Achaleven designed all the games and an active warm-up to get everyone ready. Although there was a bit of rain it didn’t dampen spirits and lots of fun was had and friendships made. You can’t have a rainbow without a little rain!! Continue reading North Lorn Sports Day Fun – The Rainbow Games

They pupils then enjoyed a disco in the afternoon with biscuits for sale! Altogether the school managed to raise £191.75 for the charity.

Children and staff at Gigha Primary School and Pre-Five Unit hosted an afternoon tea comedy club experience for all members of the community. P4 – P7 amazed us with their three minute stand-up routines – some real comic talent in their delivery. Our favourite was, ‘What’s pink and fluffy? Pink fluff!’ Neighbours and friends chipped in with their favourite jokes – there were some real howlers, including the inevitable ‘Why did the chicken cross the road? To get to the other side!’

LC and Nurture Group Nativity
This year Dunoon Primary Learning Centre and Nurture Group performed “The Nativity” to parents, friends and the other pupils and staff in the school. All of the children took part, trying very hard to learn their lines and the words and signs for lots of songs. A special mention must go to P6 pupil, Kenzie, whose narrating was outstanding during all performances. Parents particularly enjoyed solos performed by Aaron, Christopher, Alexander, Ciaran, Malakai, Ty, Evie and Bonnie. The final performance was so good that Santa flew in to deliver some special presents! Afterwards, parents and children enjoyed some tea and cake before the children went home to get ready for Santa arriving at their own houses.
