“A highly enjoyable Burns supper was held at Furnace Primary on 25th January 2017 with all the Minard and Furnace pupils and staff. Lots of parents and members of the community came along too. All the pupils were involved in one way or another. Myself and Marie from Furnace were the MCs for the afternoon.

The Chair of our Parent Council Mrs Hay gave us a rendition of “Willie Wassel”. Tyler and Antoni said “The Selkirk Grace”, all the boys gave the “Toast to the Lassies” (we were allowed to be a wee bit cheeky!) and the girls gave a “Reply to the Lads”. Jessica, Jack and Sandy recited the poem “A Dug”, the P6 and P7 pupils recited “Address to a Haggis” and Chloe gave the “Vote of Thanks”. We finished with “Auld Lang Syne” accompanied by Wilf Stout on the piano. Huge thanks to Miss Rhona for the fantastic haggis, neeps and tatties and thanks to everyone who came along.”
