We had super fun at the Play Van this week!
On 19th December a group of Musicians from P5-7 in Bell’s Brae went to Montfield to perform and entertain the residents. The children played a selection of instruments and really showcased their talents! Well done to all involved!
Last week the children from Primary 1 entertained the school and family and friends with their nativity ‘Busy, Busy Bethlehem’. The boys and girls have spent many weeks learning their parts and their songs and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the performance.
Due to the adverse weather conditions and the ongoing winter bugs we have decided to cancel the disco tonight.
Refunds are available from our school office.
Last Tuesday, the Bell’s Brae P5-7 Christmas Choir went to the Over 60s Club at Islesburgh. They performed a selection of festive songs which they have been busy rehearsing at after-school choir. The audience really enjoyed their programme and complemented them on their singing. This year, the choir decided to collect money for the Shetland MRI Scanner, to which the Over 60s Club very kindly donated £113! Many thanks to the club for inviting our school choir to perform and for making such a kind donation.
The Christmas Choir will be performing at the Lerwick Baptist Church, Quoys, on Saturday 14th December at 2pm. Again, there will be a donations tub to gather money for the Shetland MRI Scanner.
Our Fish and Chip night will be on Friday 8 November with fish, macaroni and sausage suppers on the menu. It will start at 5pm, with last orders being taken at 6.45pm. Prices will be £6 for an adult fish supper and £3 for a child’s one. Macaroni and Sausage suppers will both be £5 for an adult and £2 for a child. There will also be ice-cream and sprinkles for £1 for any bairns looking for something sweet to finish their meal!
Please come along!
Nursery children have been learning about ‘Building and buildings’ this term. They have been exploring patterns in their environment, building models using junk and construction, measuring the size of objects using blocks, rulers, straws and string, and looking at similarities and differences of buildings in the area.
On Friday 11th October we held our whole school Harvest assembly. We collected donations for the local Food Bank and David Grieve from the local branch accepted these. We thank you for your very kind donations.
Primary 1-4 pupils at Bell’s Brae enjoyed a visit from Theatre in Schools, Scotland. They delighted pupils with their performance of ‘Cloudman’
A cleverly staged show with puppets, storytelling and lots of clouds.
