Bell’s Brae Choir Performance

Last Tuesday, the Bell’s Brae P5-7 Christmas Choir went to the Over 60s Club at Islesburgh.  They performed a selection of festive songs which they have been busy rehearsing at after-school choir.  The audience really enjoyed their programme and complemented them on their singing.  This year, the choir decided to collect money for the Shetland MRI Scanner, to which the Over 60s Club very kindly donated £113!  Many thanks to the club for inviting our school choir to perform and for making such a kind donation.

The Christmas Choir will be performing  at the Lerwick Baptist Church, Quoys, on Saturday 14th December at 2pm.  Again, there will be a donations tub to gather money for the Shetland MRI Scanner.

Learner Led Event 26.9.19

On Thursday we welcomed families to our Learner Led Event.   Learner Led Events are a chance for your child(ren) to share their learning with you.

Our pupils enjoyed showing their families around the school and sharing their learning with them.

Representatives from various other agencies were available  in our school canteen, these included our Parent Council, the School Nurse and Active Schools.  The School Meal’s Service provided taster school lunches for families to try and this was very popular.

Primary One Trip on the Bressay Ferry

On Tuesday 27th May both Primary One classes went for a trip to Bressay.  We were lucky to get the chance to talk with Captain John Clark and his crew on the Leirna.  We went up to the Bridge and saw how the boat is steered.  Once safely ashore we walked up to the Maryfield House Hotel, where we enjoyed crisps and juice.  There was even time for a play in the garden before we caught the ferry home!  We had such a super morning.
