Whinhill Play Committee
Children have the right to play and relax by doing things like sports, music and drama. (Article 31, UNCRC)
The Whinhill Play Committee wants to work towards developing play and playful opportunities for learning across our school. We meet once a month and discuss ways to support the pupils, teachers and parents in developing their knowledge of the benefits of play.
As part of our committee meetings, we have a floorbook where we discuss self-evaluation questions. This helps us to see what is already going well and what our next steps are.
We also like to complete environment walks, where we look in each of the classrooms to see what resources are available to the pupils for play.
As a committee, we signed the Scottish Play Charter and pledged to be Play Champions within our school.
