Improvement Priorities

At Inverkip Primary School and Nursery Class, we believe every child and every moment counts. That’s why we’ve created a child-friendly improvement plan, designed with pupils in mind, to help everyone know what we’re working on and how we’re getting better together.

This year, we’re focusing on four key areas:

  1. Literacy and Numeracy
We’re making spelling, grammar, writing, and maths easier to understand, more consistent, and lots more fun! From nursery to P7, we’re using games, expert advice, and playful learning to build strong foundations.

  2. Learning and Teaching
Our classrooms and nursery are full of creativity, play, and purpose. We’re working together to plan exciting lessons, learn about big ideas, and build the skills we need for learning, life, and work. Pupil voice helps shape what and how we learn.

  3. Equity and Inclusion
Everyone at Kip gets what they need to succeed. We’re reducing barriers, sharing support fairly, and making sure all children feel included and celebrated – whatever their background or needs. We’re proud to launch our Pinkie Promise and Respect Me charter.

  4. Wellbeing and Rights
We want every child to feel safe, valued, and happy. We use restorative approaches, celebrate diversity, and teach important values like fairness, kindness, and respect. Our learning includes voices from around the world and helps us grow into confident, caring individuals.

Pupils are leading the way through assemblies, learning groups, outdoor projects, and shared decisions because at Kip, every child matters and their voice makes a difference.
