Successful Learners

Today, the Sunflower’s took part in a great science experiment, making fizzing Christmas tree’s.  All pupils were able to mix baking soda, water and glitter together to make moldable dough. Most pupils were build a Christmas tree with the dough and we then put them in the freezer. Later on, each child poured coloured vinegar mixture over the top. Some pupils could notice the Christmas tree fizz and melt and be able to say the changes that they saw and heard.

St Andrew’s Day

Successful Learners       Confident Individuals

The Moonbeams enjoyed learning about why we celebrate St Andrew’s Day this week. The children designed some tartan and made a Scotland Flag using white and blue foam.  As part of our theme we looked at the colours of our  Flag and investigated the colours and designs of flags around the world. The children were excellent at identifying the correct flag from Makaton colour signs.

ICE Pack – What do I want?

* SUCCESSFUL LEARNERS, RESPONSIBLE CITIZENS *

The Daisies class enjoyed making a choice of what items to wish for in their Santa letters. We explored the Smyths website and chose 5 items that we liked.

We printed images and cut and stick them into a Santa letter. We practised overwriting our names on the bottom of the letter and are hoping to go and post them next week.

ST. ANDREWS DAY 2021

*Confident Individuals* *Successful Learners*

The Sungazers have been busy celebrating and learning about St. Andrews Day. We enjoyed a Scottish food tasting session where we tried Porridge, Tattie scones, Shortbread & Irn Bru, and shared our opinions with each other. We had some strong favourites within the class & some foods that we disliked too. I’m sure you will be able to tell from our photos which ones we liked/disliked!
